  • I'm trying to work out how to mount a dynamo front light out of the way of the handlebar bag - the obvious option is at the fork crown, but I'm hampered by a lack of front-facing bolt hole. There is a bolt hole that goes up into the steerer, but it's set pretty far back (28mm from front of fork) and I'm not sure if there are any mounts that would clear this.

Has anyone done this before?? Struggling to work out my options. This website had a lot of stuff, but nothing for this setup. Backup option is at fork eyelet, but would rather have the light higher.

  • How is the mudguard mounted, and is it permanent? Affix the light to the mudguard?
Or always, p-clips are an option. Or a piece of Meccano or similar to extend a normal bracket to make it long enough to use the other hole?

  • Mudguard is a maybe. Ideally I'd have some that works with or without it (ie. take the place of the little spacer that's between the mudguard and the crown currently). Piece of meccano is certainly an option, or just get a strip of 6mm aluminium and drill some holes for something a bit stiffer.

@PhilDAS that looks handy, will definitely suffice if I decide to leave the mudguard on.
