Who knows what is in the small print?
They're all published openly, aren't they?
I mean, I'm no fan of unchecked legislation, but the brexit stuff is not without precedent, even if woefully behind schedule (the same method was used to join the EU in the first place).
And SIs can be challenged, as far as i know, , even if it only happens very rarely
In the past the Australian parliament has been even less effective than ours in controlling the gradual increase in authoritarianism through poorly scrutinised legislation and government regulation. Who knows what is happening now in the UK? The Brexit department have managed the introduction of "over 500" statutory instruments through parliament affecting every level of regulation in the country. Who knows what is in the small print?
