Thank you @OneLessCardigan and @Bernie for a splendid spin out to box hill and back, on glorious back roads. sharp tan lines, great weather, then afternoon lounging with home made negroni cocktails and ox tail ragu with pasta..

Cycled up to Marble Arch to have a gander at the XR site.
Peaceful vibe, with many (100k+?) people in Hyde Park.
Cycled down to Parliament Square,
sole Policeman just square side of the traffic barrier at the end of Westminster Bridge
was giving more directions to tourists than worrying about the XR protestors.
Along the Embankment to Waterloo Bridge.
Policemen at the tape barriers warning that a
'Police Operation is due to start, and the only legal protest site is Marble Arch'
but were not preventing pedestrians accessing the protest. I did see one protestor carried away.
Cycled back to Makan in Ladbroke Grove for a coffee and a slab of banana cake prior to the ride home.
Owner, who I had not seen since the Autumn, had a bit of a chat and brought me over an additional espresso.
Rode home a bit buzzed. Closest I'll ever get to a 'finishing bottle'.

Lovely ride in the Wiltshire countryside - a couple of wrong turns but mostly great byways and lanes.

Glorious Sussex sunshine yesterday, 45 miles from Burgess Hill to Lewes taking in the Weirwood reservoir. Bluebells and lambs a plenty.

finished work early on sat so decided to head out a quick ride. The heavens opened up and I got totally soaked in torrential rain but as i was finishing my ride it cleared up and was rewarded this on my way down from a hill.

50 miles going round all the IKEAs in London.

UTFS

56km circuit from Reading up into South Oxfordshire - Henley, Xmas Common then back through Cookley Green, Nuffield, Stoke Row etc. A good mix of bridleways, woods, roads and paths along the river. Theres a great, 10km unbroken stretch of uphill singletrack paved road out past Henley.

2 samosas, 1 pint, 1 packet of crisps.

The lane up to Bix Common from the Fairmile or the road up to Fawley?

Icehouse Lane up to Fawley. Its so nice around there, really quiet too.

I’m planning on doing the Transatlantic Way in June, although I (my knees) was having second thoughts after sat.

It was an unofficial race - Transwales - organised by The Racing Collective

Big (for me) bank holiday ride from Reading over to Henley then up into the hills, some amazing lanes. Sun came out. Went through the estate owned by the Getty family. Didn't get invited in.

Dropped down onto the Ridgeway and followed that across to Nuffield. Had planned to carry on to Goring but needed a poo. Didn't want to defecate in the hollow of a fallen oak so found a pub, fixed a slow puncture then being close ish to home headed back. 43 miles.

Amazing skies. Lovely.

Rode Catford leaving Saturday to Sunderland arriving Tuesday with my daughter. A wiggly 350 miles criss-crossing NCN route 1 passing through Cambridge, March, Boston, Skegness, Grimsby, Hull, Scarborough, Middlesbrough, Hartlepool and on to Sunderland, (well actually Houghton le Spring). Mixed weather...hot sun Sunday and pissing rain and a headwind on Tuesday crossing the Yorkshire Moors. I rode single speed, daughter rode geared. 1 puncture, no mechanicals. Totally fucking epic.

Yep. Always surprises me how far it is from Grimsby.

Nice, I did something similar a couple of years ago (solo) but I found this section really quite grim. The weather wasn't in my favour. Wish I'd ridden in land really rather than Skegness. But I suppose it's a place you have to visit for yourself. Boston too was especially depressing.

It looks like you had a nice time though :)
