I'd leave it as is personally.
Lovely bike.

Also been toying with replacing this with a bridge club, vintage is cool but so are discs...
Do as I did and meet in the middle, 90s frame with 650b and discs

I particularly like the front end.

Can someone please point me in the direction of a certain bicycle, I've seen it come up time to time on these pages...
It's a classic steel cyclocross frameset with cantilever brakes being used for bikepacking/touring - I'm sure it had a seatpack, frame bag, and little bar bag.

No frame bag but close to your description

Even if it's not that one he's thinking of, thanks for posting it, lovely bicycle.

Exactly what I was thinking. That's lovely indeed; and now I want to build something similar.

Should've known, had to be Blue Lug build.

Living dangerously with that seatpost.

Yes, the supertype is the weak (literally) point on this bike.

@mk1mark
Another steel with canti and bikepacking gears.

I had the same query a few months back

I wrote a script which downloaded every image from this thread (I'm crap, so I ended up with the files for every avatar in here too) and trawled through and found the bike I was looking for. Same one?

Well done. I think it might be the one.

This one also fit that cat

Inspired by these bikes I was looking pretty hard for an old cx frame for a pal. The results were pretty disappointing, the clearance is so tight usually
-
• #21469
Also older CX bikes are likely to have a high BB , which is not something you'd want on a touring bike.

If there is anything the above bikes have taught us it is that is doesn't really matter. Ride what you've got.
-
• #21471
Fantastic, this is the exact bike I was thinking of.
It looks fantastic, thanks for digging!
-
• #21472
exactly this

• #21473
This. Couldn't agree more
-
• #21474
They all look great.
I've just cobbled this together - but may have a traditional steel frameset on the way.

No need to change the bike. Looks really nice. Early 2000s hotness. Just get some rad bickepacking bags instead of the rack
Lovely! I particularly like the front end.
