Good to have you back. :)

Ha, I'm not sure it will deserve anything as grand-sounding as a 'launch', but hopefully we'll get to dribble it out somewhere that serves beer...

Finished the 'EP' - it's really just three tracks to be able to submit to play at festivals etc next summer. We properly rushed it, did 4 songs in a day, so it's basically a live take with separately tracked vocals and solos. Loved the process, really keen to get back and take some proper time to produce something we're genuinely happy with...

That's good.
When's the next gig? -
• #181
Thanks! We've just confirmed to play at What's Cookin (lovely Americana/bluegrass night) on Sunday 3rd Feb - it's at the Red Lion in East Ham.

Good stuff. I hope I'll be able to make the gig next year.
-
• #183
That would be great! Make sure you say hi if you do.

Desperately want a harmonium.
-
• #185
Love a bit of harmonium. This conjured up memories of one of my favourite obscure folk albums:

I still haven't made it to an Embers gig, unfortunately. I hope to make it to the Green Note on the 21st June!
-
• #187
Ah - please say hello if you do! Be great to put a face to a name.
-
• #188
Bump for the Embers gig tonight at the Green Note. I'm going. Last chance to see a band with forumenger participation for a while. :)

• #189
... er, or I'm not. It's sold out. :(

Sorry about this! Should have thought to drop you a message here to confirm. We sold out last week which was incredibly gratifying as only 50% of the audience were friends and family! Lots of fun, they're keen to have us back so there will be more. We've got a few gigs lined up if anyone was interested:
Leyton technical this Thursday supporting Lucy Kitt
Rollright Fayre on 13th July - if you're going come say hi!
Biddle Brothers - 12th September
Morden Arms in Greenwich - 4th October
The Golden Hinde (the actual boat near Borough Market) - 30th October... -

And probably of far more interest to anyone looking at this thread, this is quite possibly my favourite piece of recorded music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-w7cjXAtpJ4

Well, it's my own stupidity for forgetting to buy tickets. I may be able to come on Thursday or to Biddle Brothers.

I couldn't nominate a favourite! This is lovely, though.

Lovely tune! I've heard this played at a few singarounds but not heard the Planxty version. Love Christy's voice on it...

SUCH a great tune! Was playing this with a mate a couple of weeks ago. Really good exercise in open tuning guitar business...

My favourite version of that is by Sean Cannon and the Dubliners.

I love a lot of stuff by Dalla (sadly not playing together at the moment, but in various separate outfits). 'Cribbar' (album) is one of my all-time favourites (although I have a lot of those).
This is from K5:

(I don't think the lyric works too well with it, but I love the tunes.)

I've been really into Ye Vagabonds recently - two young Irish brothers with the most amazing harmonies and musicality. Seen them twice in London in the past ~6 months and they're playing soon again I think... this song in particular has really stuck, but the whole recent album is incredible:
Cheers, let us know when you launch the EP. Obviously, you are going to launch the EP, aren't you? :)
