I'll be a no-show, as well.

I may have to also bow out this week now unfortunatley as I have a slightly leaky roof that may need seeing to following this weather.

So who's in for this Wednesday? I am.
As for food, should we just do Cook Daily again? Having done some sleuthing, I've discovered that the vegan chip shop I thought of going to in Graham Road has shut again, leaving only the older chip shop. It still has a long vegan menu, but I don't think it's great for having a sit-down (as concerns ambience).
As I posted earlier, the Gallery Café in Old Ford Road are doing a special event, but I didn't get the impression that anyone was keen on that (and as it seems to be a ticketed event, there may well not be any tickets left):

Anyway, if anyone has any other suggestions for food, let's hear them!

Bump for tomorrow. 6pm at Cook Daily, then Chesham, probably about 7:30. Should be great weather and there will be absolutely no valid excuses for staying away. :)

I'll see you at Cook Daily

Lovely Easts, let's do it again next week!
Food this time will be had at Black Cat Café, 76 Clarence Road. 6pm there, aiming to get to the Chesham by about 7:30.

Ah well, I hope they campaign for a plastic-free duck pond in the first place. #thinkglobalactlocal
Bump for tonight, see two posts up. ^^

Short but sweet Easts tonight, just ric_a5 and me. I imagine low attendance may have been due to the Europa League final that I've just realised is happening mainly because my neighbours are shouting so much.
Neither Rich nor I can make next week, so someone else will have to take the initiative. Anyone?

I'll be a No-Show as well.
1st Wednesday of each month sees me informing/boring fellow

Early bump for next week.
ric_a5 and I went to Black Cat last week, which was good. Any suggestions for food? The easy (as in tried and tested) options are Cook Daily and Black Cat.
I'll investigate if you still have to book for the Spread Eagle in Homerton High Street (wildly popular Mexican food by Club Mexicana that was always completely booked out last year).
Anyway, so many places have opened that I don't know yet, so suggestions welcome.
Usual format, 6pm at the food place, 7:30 at the Chesham.

I thought I'd compile a list of eating options that I can see in the surrounding area--some of which I haven't been to. Places should be in reasonable distance from the Chesham and if we're all on bikes can of course be further afield, but people do turn up on foot from time to time.
Cook Daily, off Westgate Street
Black Cat Café, Clarence Road
The Spread Eagle, Homerton High Street
The Kingfisher, Homerton High Street (traditional chip shop with newly-introduced vegan menu)
Sutton & Sons (traditional chip shop with not-so-newly-introduced vegan menu)
Temple of Hackney, Morning Lane
Vietnamese places, Mare Street between Well Street and Richmond RoadClose at 6 so only for very early birds:
VDelicious, Ponsford Street (http://vdelicious.co.uk/)
Wave, Dispensary Yard off Mare Street Narroway (seems pricey)Lots of other caffs in the area close at 4, so not suitable.
Please add to it!

Went touring with the other half last week and we had to get a really slow Chiltern train up to my folk's place in Warwickshire because the line was shut between Wembley and Gerrards X.
Didn't have a book so was a bit worried about how I was going to kill time on the train, but we moved seats so a nice older couple could sit opposite us and got talking to them. They were really nice and interesting and made the journey fly by.
Chatted about various things and they said they downsized three years ago and moved to Ruislip. My parents are in the process of downsizing so talked a lot about that then of course I said "funny you're from Ruislip, I met someone from there the other week and it sounds like a fascinating place". Part of me was thinking ooh I bet they know @mespilus
Anyway, they were from Islip (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islip,_Oxfordshire). Obviously need my ears tested. #awkward

Anyway, they officially invited us on this:
https://www.islipbigbikeride.com/So I might lead a forum contingent there next year, the baking at the end sounds great.
I'm out tonight, I'm afraid, due to illness. The best-laid plans, etc. Sorry not to be there.
