Not sure what to make of it.

I liked it - it didn't feel quite so sparky as the first though

..yea I'd sign that. I don't think it was bad, and maybe it's just that the first episode sort-of raised expectations quite a lot, and it kinda ebbed away afterwards.. yet the whole thing left me a bit "meh".
