I just ran a quick test - try this before the above as it should work
download the Sierra driver. Install it. It will get stuck half way saying it is not optimised. Hit ok to optimise, wait a bit then cancel the installer. It will continue to install
open terminal, type:
lpinfo -m
look for your printer, it should now be listed.
open printers and scanners. plug in your printer. under "Use" > select software
