  • Cable outer is a little too short.

  • I agree with @freezing77. To check - allow a little more slack on the inner cable, say a couple of centimetres, then tighten up the cable clamp. Then pull the outer cable out of the brake lever adjuster to take up the slack you've made. It should put the noodle right and prove the hypothesis.

  • Someone in here asked about binoculars for birdwatching. I'm failing at finding the comment. I think the recommendation was for 8x42 but that's the limit of my memory. Its a gift for someone, I'd like to spend about a ton.

  • Use a zip tie to hold the noodle onto the cage or you could bend the noodle slightly to open up the angle.

Otherwise, bring it to the court on Sunday if you're down and I'll have a look at it

  • I'm failing at finding the comment

Strangely enough, searching for "binoculars" finds it

  • edit: page fail

  • Could lend you a bike, I'm walking distance away.

  • Anyone know of breakfast places near Gatwick Airport?

I'm working that way in the morning and want to eat breakfast before I start work at 8.

  • Thanks for the offer but we're all sorted, cheers!

  • I forgot you could search in comment. Thanks.

  • Both recent V brake pics would benefit from swapping the conical washers round so the thin one is on the inside, the arms are quite far out. First one looks like it has the washer meant to go right on the outside before the nut in the middle of the stack, from there make sure there is enough tension, probably by screwing in both side adjustment screws, and if they're all the way in you may need to check the spring is in the correct hole in the canti boss or (unlikely) go for a higher tension hole.

  • I only have recent knowledge of Tesco Extra which is between North and South terminals, you can't miss it. I can only assume you can get a brekkie if not there's a shop full of food.

  • I've asked a friend who is a pilot and he gave a list as long as my arm of places to avoid so that might actually be the best at the moment.

  • Can anyone make me a vector file of this please?

  • I don't have the right cut of Clarendon handy but if this is good enough for you...

  • can anyone south put a star nut in and cut a steer tube for me?

  • I have the star fangled nut setter and a hack saw, you're happy to pop by if you want. Southwark Bridge Road, SE1.

  • I've just fitted an 11-40 sunrace MTB cassette to my 11 speed road hub. I noticed some slack, so I added a 1.85mm spacer, which helped, but there is still some slack. Should I try and source a 2mm spacer or is there a specific spacer I need?
    Thanks in advance

  • is there a specific spacer I need?

You might need the 1mm spacer which typically goes between 10-speed cassettes with rebated spiders and 8/9/10-speed freehubs. The 1.85mm spacers just gets your 11-speed road freehub down to the width of an 8/9/10-speed one.

  • Sorry I should have mentioned the 11-40 Mtb cassette is also 11 speed. Will the 1mm spacer still apply?

  • Will the 1mm spacer still apply?

Yes, because the cassette is designed to go on a 8/9/10-speed width freehub despite being 11-speed. That's how 11-speed MTB works; same old freehub width, massive inboard overhang.

  • Why isn't there a dedicated "Ask Tester" thread on LFGSS?

  • Great, I'll find and order one now. Thanks for your help, as always.

  • Looks great, thank you. Could you ping me a hi res version please? Will send you my email via pm
