  • Where is the handle bar thread? ...I'm sure there used to be one.

Alternatively anyone got a suggestion for cheap swept risers with less sweep than north road bars. Basically, something comfortable, a bit upright, and giving good balance.

    Ideally not OS.

  • Sure you can't just squish some bags on under the seat? I used to manage it (two half full panniers) to go swimming with MiniGB:

  • I have a chain tool but when the pin is pushed right out that's when you need the hammer/pliers/swearing

  • That's why you don't push it all the way out.

  • The seat attaches to the top rails of the rack so can't access them to clip a bag too, so I would need a new rack with secondary rails - this is maybe where the bodge option comes in to play .

  • I've received an election communication from the Brexit Party (my name and address on it). I've opted out of the open electoral roll. I have not signed up to receive anything from the Brexit Party.

Where could they have got my personal details from? And are they allowed to use them for this purpose?

  • I’d start with any interactions you may have had with companies associated with Aaron Banks.

  • Tubus Logo is a nice rack.

  • I've found one of the best for me is found in less than high end shops, often family oriented places. They're sold under zoom or hsin lung or pyramid or a variety of other names, but they're a basic steel (sometimes cromo) three speed type bar with a sweep a bit shallower than 45º. Often the cheapest bar on the rack. I can measure mine if you want.

  • I'd start with a subject access request.

  • I'm going cycling in Spain for a few weeks - mainly off road, camping along the way. Does anyone have suggestions for travel insurance?

  • I've opted out of the open electoral roll

That doesn't opt you out of the actual electoral register; it's possible that they have simply used the electoral register for its designated purpose. Election staff, political parties, candidates and holders of elected office use the register for electoral purposes
If that was all the electoral register was ever used for, we could all sleep more safely in our beds and it might approach the condition of being GDPR compliant, which it certainly isn't now.

  • Nice, but pricey! Thanks, might be the best option.

  • Pletscher do add on rails for some of their lines, might be cheaper than other options.

  • Pipe wrench, way better

  • Cheers. I'll have a hunt around.

It s often the way with bars.

I've got an awesome set of risers on my old beater track bike that came off a mate's Dutch bike and I cut down. No silly hipster rise, and a nice little sweap.

Was just hoping there'd be something with less effort!

Edit : didn't realise how cheap nitto stuff was on px now. Just parking these here for later https://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/HBNIB347/nitto-b347-dove-handlebar

  • I found the Doves too closed for my liking, too close to parallel to the top tube, to be clearer.

  • Tortec Expedition has the lower level rails too.

  • Bent chainring last night, managed to ease back to something like true so no issue there, however 3 teeth broken too. Just ride it or will I soon realise I need a new ring?

  • I have a friend visiting from Canada for a couple of weeks and she'd like to get out on a bike. She's about 5'7" and I'm 6'2" so mine are way too big.

Would anyone be willing to lend one for the duration? She's responsible and capable. She goes everywhere in Toronto by bike.

  • I have a couple of options that might work.

Where are you based and when do you need it?

  • Good point, forgot to say. South London, she'll be staying in Tulse Hill. Landing today but will likely be settling for a day or so.

  • When the chain slips as you pull away from a red light/junction, your balls will slam onto the top tube and your knee will smash on the stem. Then you go to pedal away and realise the chain has dropped off the front rings. So you move onto the pavement to put the chain back on and your hands get all oily/greasy. Repeat this 2 or 3 times.
Then you will wish you bought a new chain ring.

  • Or the chain comes off as you’re pedalling hard and your cranks spin around which throws you over the bars, cracking your helmet, snapping your Chinese fake oakleys and cracking your Specialized £90 saddle. Maybe that was just me though.

  • Ok ok, I'll get a new one!! About to put an ad on the wanted thread

    Cheers
