Ha, did my extra e and lack of acute accent on the other e cause this mild bout of aggression? I like cycling a LOT more than I like watching people being paid to ride bikes so my knowledge of the correct terms (and my lack of ability to speak/write French) has let me down. But I do know that of in English is of.
Baguettes at dawn? 😉
The de in Tour de Yorkshire really boils my piss.
It's not Vuelta de España or Giro de Italia. I don't see the need for the Tour of Yorkshire anyway and I realise its a painful hangover from when Yorkshire held the Grande Depart, but if its a valid race in its own right have the confidence to use your own language for its name rather than piggy backing the the Tour de France.
Everytime I hear it said it makes irrationally angry. I can just imagine a boardroom of the Yorkshire tourist board coming up with this shit plan and none of them being vaguely interested in cycling or cycle racing.
