Then again, perhaps this race is too short for him.
46:56 says skinny isn’t too shabby over short distances neither... currently number 42nd on the all time fastest 25mi TTs.

And skinny is back in the spot he knows best; out in front.
-
• #2854
Pffft, I bet his 100m drag spring time is bloody rubbish. :)

• #2855
So has Petervary taken a rest at last? skinny usually seems to have a superior rest strategy.
-
• #2856
Jay has stopped for a few hours. He's back in the saddle now.
-
• #2859
It's making for good racing as they are really close
-
• #2860
doesn’t seem sustainable
It's a shorter race than tcr so can go into sleep dep. Different tactics from a 1-2 week race.

• #2861
200m!
-
• #2862
They must be wheel to wheel now. 200m and a 14 second difference in last update.

Another one to track at the minute. 200 mile and 500 mile supported race around Northern Ireland. Not many known names apart from Adrian O'Sullivan, Transatlanticway organiser.

Nice racing in Italy. While Jay and skinny took a few hours rest Sofiane passed them. New leader but the top 3 is still within 9km of eachother after 2,5 days. Now it's 200 km of pretty flat terrain and then the last 2 big climbs. Maybe skinny can drop them there?
-
• #2866
Looks like they are going to be racing with 200km less and Jay potentially the more rested?
-
• #2867
What’s happened? Skinny was 15k in front and now jp has made it up and more tracking showing him off route??
-
• #2868
Not according to this. Oh, skinny off route?

No jp off route following the dot watcher.

That's not offroute?
-
• #2872
According to track leaders jh was 15k in the lead then jp went off piste and ended up 30k in front after clocking 70kph on roads.

• #2873
Not now but it was showing him off route prior to this point it can be seen in the replay function
-
• #2874
Just watched it on replay, looks pretty bad like you say, goes off route, speeds up and overtakes
Happens around 2.30 CEST

Yeah, look at his history and there's loads of points offroute:
https://trackleaders.com/italydivide19i.php?name=Jay_Petervary
He is doing well to be up there despite not having much off-road experience, against someone like Petervary who has decades of it.
Presumably Petervary will be putting lots of time into him on the descents. If I really had nothing to do I would have a detailed look at the tracking and see if that was what was happening. There are some big climbs at the end - Skinny might have a chance to do something on those if he is still within reach.
EDIT - just realised big climbs means there are also some big descents so maybe that is wishful thinking!
The other guy I've got half an eye on is Bagoly Levante, who finished really strongly in second on the SRMR. He forced Petervary to ride through the night to hold onto his lead.
