Is guess very little difference, if any.
The only issue would be if the ends of the jaws were too fat to fit between the links, in which case a few minutes with a file would solve the problem.
11 speed chains are the smallest so if they fit those you shouldn’t have a problem, and I imagine most - if not all - are designed with 11 so chains in mind.

Is there any difference between all the cheap master link pliers? Do they all work with all the different brands of master links?
