  • Agree to a point and perhaps (and I stress 'perhaps') a relative degree of normality in terms of PL transfer fees could be witnessed were those two out of the bidding however I really wouldn't want to see £200m splashed on 3 players who's value comes in part from the fact they've a history of high transfer fees. I'd gladly take one or two proven 'top class' players - or better than the one or two first XI players we potentially let go plus players that constitute a quality improvement in terms of the few we manage to 'clear out'. Naturally 2 or 3 £75m+ worldies would improve our squad but realistically, this season we've missed just a general rise in quality in terms of squad depth and one or two highly technically gifted players. I'd gladly take 4 players (CB, WB, CM, pacy winger) in the next transfer window, one marquee, two highly accomplished and experienced and a prospect in place of the 4-5 we're likely to lose.

  • Why do you associate Chelsea with Poland?

Both are rife with Holocaust deniers?

  • County fans certainly deserve better than non-league relegation and having to see the club owner's wang, but that's our lot in life at the moment.

  • As mentioned after the Man City Champions league game, Eriksen will win us a couple of games between now and the end of the season and this one against Brighton was the first.

Struggled against obdurate opponents, and Eriksen proved the lock opener.
Three points we desperately needed to secure a top four spot for next season..

  • Sorry I should have been more specific, and not just said top class.. My preference would be to buy players like Max Aarons, Ryan Sessegnon, David Brooks, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and maybe Wilfried Zaha.. After questioning Danny Rose's commitment earlier, he of course was outstanding tonight .

  • Obdurate! Where was Lamela? I saw that Janssen even got some game time.

Think West Ham could rightly fancy it at the weekend.

  • Lamela was injured in the warm up for the champions league game. Not sure when he’ll be fit again..

  • Worried about this game, like chelsea, you guys really get up for playing us. Not sure how we’ll be when we face you. The points against Brighton tonight have given us a bit of leeway, but not much.

  • Surely they're just parading Janssen in front of the cameras to try to provoke some sort of transfer interest? He was on the bench last week too. Is he of any practical use other than as a training ground dummy or has the Sheriff worked another miracle of Levy's no-transfer policy and made him first team ready?

  • All of those would come with British player tax (meaning a £10-£20m hike in their transfer fee) and most of their teams don’t want to sell, and if they’re Palace especially not to us.
Likeliest would be Sessegnon and Brooks, but negotiations would be fraught.
Our bid for de jong last season was the right move and where we’re likely to proceed this. Look for young talent that is accomplished, but not the finished article and offer them first team football, European competition and the chance to excel under pochettino.

  • Certainly do seem to raise our game for the top 6 and lower it for the bottom half it would seem.
Just hope we do a put in a fully committed appearance and hope your lot have one eye on the CL.

Glad the weather is looking a bit ropey too as otherwise I’d want to be out on the bike, I’ll probably nip to the pub to watch it with a surprising amount of Welsh West Ham fans.

  • I’ve bumped in to Ginger Pelle (James Collins) at my local a couple of times as his Dad lives at the end of my road. Tru facts folks

I'm not one to love Jamie Jackson. And I'm not one-eyed, I know teams foul and I know United are reaching for as many tools as possible. And the team structure seems to be a tool box full of tools right now. And not very good ones. Anyway before I labour the point much more.

Pep's teams foul. They're winners. As well as all the sexeh football, they push the limits and make "tactical fouls". I'm not going mad am I?

  • Both are rife with Holocaust deniers?

    What an ignorant comment.

  • Wouldn’t be that we have one eye on the champions league, more we don’t have enough depth to truly rotate, and with the current glut of injuries, we’ll be relying on players to play a lot of games in a short amount of time.
Only upside is we don’t have many to play before the end of the season..

  •
    > Welsh West Ham fans.

    King of the plastics.

  • I shouldn’t worry, as I’m looking forward to it and going to spend Saturday afternoon watching it’ll probably end up with Fabianski being the only reason it’ll not be a pasting.

  • Not exactly romping home, but you look to have done enough now. Will be interesting to see if Leeds can pull it back together - obviously I'm hoping not this weekend - but they are looking poor suddenly.
Our best ever run of results has sealed our spot in the playoffs somewhat unexpectedly and we won't be fearing anybody now. Since Smith came in and with Grealish fit we're averaging 2.44 ppg - 78% win - amazing performance. Hope he'll be rested for the next couple.

Derby's final spot to lose now...

  • What an ignorant comment.

Said in jest, and I'm aware of Chelsea's owner and their recent efforts

  • There was an interview with one of Guardiola's ex-coaches where he basically said that if a player lost the ball the instructions were to win it back straightaway and, if not, foul the player.

If you look at the stats Man City have committed more fouls than Burnley, even though City probably have twice the possession on average. They get away with far fewer bookings though as the fouls are much further up the pitch.

It's not as if City are the only ones that do it though, plenty of others like Spurs do the same.

  • Spurs are outright nasty. Especially when a goal down. When things are going their way the play nice football but when chasing a goal it’s like Paul Scholes is their tackling coach.

  • Arsenal soiling the sheets in spectacular style tonight.

  • damn you citeh

  • " I have supported Man Utd for one league game this season and Liverpool for 35. They have lost the same amount of games in that time. "
