  • I rode London to Snowdonia on Friday. Noticed as I was arriving that there was a very noticeable knocking sound from the bottom of the bike when in gear and accelerating. No noise when decelerating or continuous speed. Chain was fairly loose so put it down to that.
Called in at my parents and borrowed a torque wrench from my Dad and tensioned the chain.
Its mostly gone away but there is still a slight knocking that I can hear in 1st gear when accelerating hard. After that the engine noise is too loud to notice it.

    Ideas?

Its not chain slap now, its correctly tensioned. Feels and sounds as if its coming from the bottom of the bike and I can slightly feel the knocking through the foot pegs

  • Ideas?

    The derbi?

Have a look/ask on the Derbi Terra Facebook group. It's the same bike with different fairings and slightly different gearing, but with the advantage that loads more Terras were sold.
