Currently riding this a lot (thanks @pit)
Did Cobblemonster on it last weekend :)
Can’t seem to get the ‘yoke’ (is that what it’s called?) on the v brakes to clear the 2.5” hookworms without a band pulling it away from the tyre. Any tips? At the mo I’m thinking to replace the tyre with something a bit narrower, or use a cantilever brake on the rear.
Don’t look at the spacer stack

Philisophical question? I have my eye on a pink Giant Peloton Superlite double butted cro.mo frame . Would this be something worth investing money in? They seem to have a nice reputation but judging by actual sale prices they appear cheap quality frames?...

Depending on where your brake pads are sitting in the slot you can get a Promax brake adjuster and move the height of the brakes up.

This morning was working on a tandem that me and a friend share. Trying to keep it as budget as possible.. so it still looks pretty ropey.
have changed the bars, cabling and levers.
thought it took 26 x 1 3/8 tyres but it doesn’t.. requires 26 x 1 1/4. So had to buy them from lbs which has been the biggest expense so far (cost more than the whole bike put together).Need to change the wheels soon.. currently a mess of rusty chrome, corroded spokes and tension is all over the place. 700c looks like it will fit without issue, rear dropouts are spaced at about 150mm and front about 90mm, but will spring out / in a little.. so in the market if anyone has something suitable..

Sounds like a lovely trip! Note that the cyclingpath between Enkhuizen and Lelystad is partially closed, they run an on demand shuttle service during the closure.

To be fair, I see a lock, it's hovering at saddle height!;)

I was really disappointed to find this out, it’s only from the halfway point though. Are the re-surfacing the bike path? Crossing the dijk was going to be a high point of the trip.
