The tiniest change in anything at that speed (rider, conditions, holding the line) will affect your power quite a bit. Until you get the readout from the power meter itself I’d ignore exact “predictions” on his power output. His CdA will change during the ride too as he settles into it and also when he fatigues so that’s not even a constant.

Indurain did, and took the record from Obree in 1994. 53 kms if memory serves.

To answer your original question, I think you're right on Ganna. If he chooses to go for it, he'll absolutely smash it I think. He's got much more of a track pedigree than Dowsett, and does monster watts for fun.
