I've had good and bad 600s but when you finish they're all good 600s :)
Looks lumpy but when the highest climb is the Chilterns and steepest maybe 12% should be nicely rolling.

Yeah, it's annoying there's no real decent accommodation options near Clitheroe, and a bit of a slog up on the train.
I'd happily Air BnB it in someone's garage if it meant more time in bed and less riding to and from the depart tbh! I don't feel like I need to prove anything there.
Otherwise it seems to be a Hobson's choice of a Premier Inn in either Blackburn or Burnley

I've got 4x600s in 4 weeks, this will be the 3rd one, so I will be taking as many comforts as possible. I was even thinking about using the bag drop options but then I might be stuck at the finish having to wait for my kit.

It sounds very much the epitome of 'type 2 fun'
Looking forward to riding it just so I can stop thinking about it, tbh!

Yeah I'm considering that too, vs just taking a bit of very light bivvy gear in a frame bag potentially.
It's all going to come down to the weather, which I'm just assuming will be 'shit' so I can be pleasantly surprised if it isn't

When I did Tan Hill 600, which is kinda like a backwards version of this, forecast looked good and then it tipped it down so hard at night I couldn't safely continue riding (the roads were flowing with so much water so I couldn't see lines, potholes, etc) so I got a hotel room in Hexham or something. Lucky because the next bit was just nothing.

Christ, why I moved out of the Northwest is all slowly coming back to me now

I'm in the market for a 600 (first one). WCW now closed and I'm away at beginning of June so can't do Pendle. Any other suggestions? Looking at maybe Glasgow 600 (?)

Blackpool Glasgow Blackpool is the first 600 I did. Not too hard from a riding perspective, but I find the night start meaning riding through two nights a pain.
Borderlands Explorer from Galashiels on the 18th is an amazing route. I'll be doing that this year.
On the 22nd June there are quite a few 600s around due to it being the final weekend for PBP qualification window.

BBC 600? http://www.aukweb.net/events/detail/19-236/
One of the Buzzards?

Thanks for the tips! Actually think it will be difficult to fit in a 600 in June. Hadn't seen BBC 600, Chalfont SP start would be nice and convenient to get to. Sounds like a good one

Audax are a PITA to get to unless you live near the good riding.
You're not wrong

I was going to do it as a DIY/Perm earlier this year but didn't get time to fit it in.

25 or 20km from the start. It's not so bad considering what's coming after. If you stayed in Clitheroe you'd still need to get there on the Fri night which would lose you some time (train or ride?)
If I drove, I could probably find a place to park and sleep in the back of the car. Not great but an option.

"Free parking will be available in the village hall car-park for the duration of the event. Please note the organiser is not responsible for your vehicle and/or their contents during the event."
So the car option would be easy (apart from the 12-Monster-cans drive back).
There's a hotel with an £80 room left about 12k from the start (23k from Preston).
Train is £90+ return.
I wonder how long it will take to finish this though? Maybe Sunday night?
In which case it might make sense to sleep and then drive back Mon morning.I need to have a look and see how long Tan Hill 600 took me and how long I was stopped for, etc. to have some idea.

Oof, it's not a cheap do. I've not got a car so defo gonna train it up there, it's which is the least faff option for accommodation really... And the one that gives you the lowest sleep deficit at the start line.
It looks like people tend to finish with very little time to spare, like an hour or so. That's if they finish.
Sunday night I'm tempted to go for that slightly pricier/nearer room as I'm pretty sure I'll be wanting to go to sleep pretty quickly

I had a look at the Tan Hill ride and my time was 28hrs with 5hrs stop time so I got around quicker than I thought. But this is another 2-3000m of climbing so who knows?
