• Hello, I haven't read through the thread but I have a question about old watches. I have an old omega that was my dad's. I have had it fixed and then broken it twice and I basically can't afford to keep this up, it seems extremely fragile. Anyway, I had the thought I could get it gutted and have the internal parts replaced by some something cheap and reliable. I know it is an expensive watch but I would wear it purely for sentimental reasons, is this possible?

  • As @Stonehedge says, post a picture. How did you break it? Vintage watches can be fragile and seem to attract knocks if you’re not used to wearing one. If the movement is badly worn you just need a good service from a reputable repairer. Who did you use and how much did you pay?
