  • Looks great. Some Kapital stuff is a bit too out there for me but that's pretty conservative.

  • I know a few of you expressed an interest in the jackets we were making for SS19. Well, they're now finalised and on pre-order (delivery estimated first week of May). As a little thank you for the support and advice, I've made a 15% discount code exclusively for LFGSS (the general pre-order discount is 10%). Also, you guys are discerning people and we'd love to have you wearing our stuff.

Check them out here and let me know if you have any questions.

  • @Tenderloin I know you prefer the bottom button higher up but there's good reason for the current button configuration. We were very keen for the collar to stay pretty central when unbuttoned rather than splaying towards the shoulders. So the construction includes a collar stand, which requires a button relatively close to the collar button. We tried 5 button with that as the starting point but it definitely didn't look right. So we've settled on this as a middle ground. The bottom button sits about half way up the pocket on the Large, for reference.

  • You'll get an order from me as soon as I'm in gainful employment again.

  • Good man. There's a jacket with your name on it, for sure.

  • Gotta show this to my dad he has been wearing that jacket for as long as I can remember and I turned 30 this year. When my mom asked him whether he could wear something nicer for a change he came back from shopping with the same jacket. In black.

  • Who made the western style vest? Is it a Stormy Kromer or Filson one?

  • Not the olive one, no. But we've got a Light Green which we think is even better. We've been road testing the final samples for a month or two now, and the reception has been really encouraging.

  • Looking good! But to be fair, so does everything on Tom Cruise in Top Gun

  • Haha. We said exactly the same thing when we took that series of shots.

  • I'm after a white / off white dressy shirt but in a slightly heavier / coarser fabric. Ideally button-down but needs to work with a tie.

My first thought is a gant rugger as I like the collars, but I could do with a slightly heavier fabric tbh

    Any ideas?

  • Gitman vintage.

  • good call

  • http://www.mercerandsons.com/ for button downs

The new anglo italian button down oxfords look like they'll be great too, but probably pricier

they both have that nice curve to the collar when buttoned down as it's cut slightly longer

  • I just bought a couple of unworn Gitman Vintage Oxford's on eBay for $40 a pop. However, those Mercer Oxford's certainly look great. Was not aware of them. Tasty collars.

    It’s Engineered Garments

  • Anyone got any suggestions for cheap dark jeans with black sticking for work casual / dress down?

Generally like 511 slim (not skinny).

    Cheers.

  • Uniqlo will serve you easily I reckon

  • work casual

    shivers

  • Cheers.

Basically not a suit, but smart.

  • Ended up going for the Engineered Garments version of the jacket - it wasn't cheap but it's basically exactly what I wanted so happy with it.

  • And great it looked, too 😌

  • Lovely, like a super old skool Ben Sherman... I know the brand is mud now but when I was a kid I'd pick up 60s/70s examples for pennies at jumble sales... Had a beautiful tight fitting pink one that I'd wear with my favourite suit, it was the fucking bollocks...
