  • Just can’t resist those hiphoppaperwaytz

  • so stop buying them, people!

Do people pay extra for its ability to randomly turn into a brick ?

£1 a roll colorplus (36 exp). Worth stocking up on imo. As much as I'd love to shoot nothing but portra, I'll learn a lot more shooting 8/9 rolls of colorplus instead

    EDIT: scam account

  • nice find geezer

  • I'm a sucker for good birch tree photos. Annoyingly I've never taken a good one.

  • Does anyone have cheap, working film cameras they'd like to get rid of? I need a few for my wedding and local charity shops aren't coming up with much.

  • Just get disposables my dude. Kind of a waste of plastic, but it's so so so much cheaper. They make for fun shooting anyway.

  • Happy to lend you an OM10 if it comes back in one piece!

Although I'd probably agree with this. A director of photography mate supplied 10+ SLRs for other DOP mates to shoot his wedding, but after an hour of processcos everyone wished they had a point'n'shoot they didn't have to worry about dropping

  • Yeah, exactly. Though I find him mostly quite pretentious, Joe Greer put disposables to good use at his wife's birthday party. You can find them here. They're great. I will be doing the same at my wedding - though that's a couple of years away. I think these must be HP5 disposables.

  • Cursory Google finds them around £5 - figured I might be able to get a few nicer (or at least more reusable) ones for the same sort of price. But that might be unrealistic.

I've got a few already, would only need a couple more.

@TooTallTim cheers but wouldn't want to risk it!

  • Just buy a few on classifieds / eBay and sell them when you're done.
    Fuck disposables.

  • I think it is unrealistic tbh.

If you just want a few ... buying some £10 Konica Pops from eBay would be fun. I’m guessing you want one per table? But if you want bulk then buying loads of used compacts of different types might be a hassle; working out which actually work, getting the different types of (sometimes expensive) batteries etc.

Ilford do some very classy b&w disposables. Not the cheapest but in shitty lighting of the average wedding b&w film does really well. Colour film with flash looks a bit sleazy :)

  • Wondering how I go about photographing a mates stag weekend. Do I;

    i. Do as I usually do (leave a MjuII around as a floating camera and shoot with something easy to operate drunk like a Nikon 35AF or Fujifilm Silvi).

ii. Take a Leica, one lens, flash, try not to drop it.

iii. Take the Rolleicord (which i’m loving) and a light meter and grab some nice seated, natural light portraits of the degenerates as we go. TLR when pissed will be a learning curve.

iv. The lazy version of above which is an OM1 and a 50mm.

... the answer is always an SLR and a 50mm isn’t it?

I would go with this, something that has a flash, easy to carry, easy to use, gets lost/damaged not a big hit, next to no time focusing, etc etc

    Have a good 'un !

    also what a flex

  • Hey, expensive to buy but free to own (easy to repair, they don’t break, they appreciate in value). Just ask Contax users/ex-users :P

  • Still haven't tried a Leica... Still don't know if I'll enjoy a rf...

  • .. the answer is always an SLR and a 50mm isn’t it?

    35mm ;)

  • Lunatic. 35s are better on rangefinders every time.

  • I just love the light in California so much... Ektar 100 and 55mm f/3.5 Micro-Nikkor. Taken with an EM body. Proof that cheap SLRs are still really great.
