We had a great time hosting everyone yesterday, glad to hear the control in some part made up for the relentless hills!
There is no shame in packing this ride, it's one of the toughest, and it was a bit cold and wet yesterday too.
We had 138 start, and around 108 finishers.
It's fun being on the other side of an event and the riders were great yesterday nothing but good vibes and smiling faces all day. There were a surprising number of nutters doing it as the first Audax - including one lady who's friend had persuaded her to ride but not mentioned the hills!
It was a bit of a full on weekend for me, I did the 3down 300k fixed the day before, and didn't get back to London until 2:30am so my alarm at 6:30 to get up for The Shark was a killer well worth it though, glad to be back at work today for a rest!
