I seem to remember reading that was a Mick Taylor tune that got nicked by Jagger/Richard... There's also a terrific Keef bum note in that one, listen out for it in the Santana-tastic solo section... He styles his way out of it tho'...

Ha! Will keep the ears peeled. I never used to like that jammy outtro bit, but it grew on me over the years. Fucking great sounding record. You can really hear how fucking loud it was in the room.
Second only to Sway on that album. No Richard on that one at all apparently. Full of fuck-ups too. Drums are all over the place. Amazing tune. Loping, threatening, staggering like a zombie panther. The "Woo! Hey! Hey! Nooooowww!" bit after the first solo is one of the best bits of rock and vocal of all time I reckon.

My dad used to play darts with Mick Taylor in the 80s.

I went to primary school with his son too.

Had no idea who he was or why I should care until many years later.

Got mildly despairing earlier about the unavailability of decent US vintage gear in the Uk now that Angel Music and Vintage and Rare have fucked off. Where does one go to buy player grade fender amps from the 60s and 70s now you can't go to Denmark street and try sensibly priced stuff in four or five different shops?
Looking for a Princeton Reverb but can't find anything half decent in the UK.

On the hunt for new new. What pedals you got for sale? Just built a brutalist jr and deep blue delay clone is next project under the iron. I want some other interesting things. Dunno what yet... hit me

Fuckles. God damn I want this

I'm also in the market for a fuzz - ideally an EHX triangle muff / op amp, or a Boss FZ-2, or a clone thereto.
I gave my old FZ-2 to a pal in the 90s when I'd finished with my Smashing Pumpkins phase. V upset about that now.

JHS make the Muffalata, every flavour of Muff in one enclosure...
Otherwise, I can hook you up with a Tym fuzz when I'm in the shop this week... More spendy but more fun!!
Let me know, I'll find out what he's got in the shop... He always has a bunch of stock that doesn't go online...

I had no idea the Muffuletta existed. That is fucking genius. Is it accurate?
Tym fuzzes are great but pedalboard space at a premium unfortunately. Will be investigating this Muffuletta tho.

Is it accurate?
I have no idea, YouTube is your friend!
He seems a bit of a pedal nutcase, can't imagine him screwing that up... I think I may have seen a That Pedal Show episode where they put it through its paces...
PS Accuracy is a pretty vague term when it comes to those old Muffs, identical pedals can sound very different...

In other news, I had band practice on Friday night... Was playing through an old JCM800, it sounded bloody rubbish...

Yeah, that's the problem with vintage - I always hated the sound of big muffs back in the days as one of our pals had a vintage 70s one which sounded like utter dogshit. Nothing creamy about it, really digital sounding. Anyway, he opened it up and it turns out the only thing original about it was the box - all the guts had been ripped out and replaced. If I'm buying, I'm buying a known quantity, new.
I'll have a listen around. My inclination is always that 'all in one' pedals sound great on paper but often fail in real life, but this one might be different.
Sorry to hear about the JCM800 btw. That was the only Marshall I ever liked back at our old rehearsal studio, but I guess it's the exact same problem - you never know how original they are, and how much of the charm or otherwise has come from weird mods.

I'm going to chime in here with another recommendation for Moose Custom Electronics in Dublin here. He makes the best fuzz around including my custom 3-in-1 fuzz pedal which is an absolute monster!

I've got the EHX nano op amp. I love it, but Siamese dream has been my favourite album since it came out, so am deeply biased.
I've also got a Behringer SF300, which is a really good FZ-2 clone, and costs about £15, so no reason not to get one of those as well.
-
• #6669
Rass. Bit more spendy than I can do right now but goddamn, those are beautiful.
-

I'm exactly with you. Siamese Dream made me love fuzz, and those Op Amps might not be the most wide-ranging of fuzzes, but they give you that SD sound perfectly. It's not what I'm after right now but I will be buying one second hand when I see a bargain.
I think I'll pick up one of those Behringers in the short term and keep an eye out for a nano triangle in the meantime. Great looking out. Checked out a few videos and it sounds exactly like my old FZ-2.

Is there some kind of site which searches various music equipment shops' pre-owned sections? They tend to have pretty keen-prices...
Or does anyone have a good list of sites to manually trawl through?

Sadly, Reverb.com is probably your best bet...

Today's lunchtime purchase, along with a ham and cheese sandwich.
I had been reading about the new Classic Vibe 70's Jags and stumbled across one in the shop near work. Plays really well and i'm love with the chime of the thing!

That is sick, do they come in white?

also comes in black and sunburst
V. pleased with it and also seems to want me to play New Order on it, so i'm obliging.
Open G yeah. It’s super satisfying. Pretty sure it’s a Keef riff. Mick T is in the other channel.
