  • A 1992 model that has a full xt m73x groupset and currently has ice tyres on
So it only gets used when it's icey.

  • you don't happen to have any photos of it?

  • 4 Here too - just sold a Cannondale Beast of the East (the newish one) & a Ridley Damocles (that i'm regretting already) - 4 does seem to be a good number, purely as I can't fit any more in the cupboard under the stairs...

    Moda Issimo 931

    Genesis Volare 853

Charge Filter re-done in RAL 6034 as I had it built up for winter commuting duties - now has flat bars, hydro brakes & the mudguards have rattled themselves to death and been chucked in a hedge in a tantrum my 2 year old would be proud of (don't worry, was my hedge)

And a Genesis Equilibrium disc 631 that I haven't built up yet - will be 5800 / Aksiums / Thomson finishing kit pretty much though

The old Charge Filter ss will take reasonably big tyres so has become the off-road / child taxi option - I might even stick a 9 speed setup on the back at some point - have spare wheels for it too (130mm disc... eh?) so a simple swap if I want different tyres.

And the Ridley I just sold that i'm not sure I should have

  • Moda Issimo looks interesting. Does it have eyelets on the frame or just on the forks? What's the tyre clearance like?

    Nice stable btw.

  • 2 bikes is the right number, everyone else is wrong.
I used to have 8 but now happy with 2 and ride them every day and every weekend.

one bike for touring, riding around town, doing errands, locking up anywhere
one bike for having fun, that you wouldn't lock up, nicely done weekend bike - for me a MTB.

  • No fixie???!

  • We need piiiiics <3

  • Fort Track 7005
    Koga Miyata Gents Racer
    S Works Allez
    YT Industries Capra

  • Current pack: Makino NJS, Eimei NJS, Kevin Winter Track, 2013 Cinelli Histogram + some NJS beater on the way.

  • I am going for
Fancy rodie (as I am one)
    Winter roadie (also audax)
    Touring (DBAD)
    Brompton
    Beater

I have sold most of the rest, just need to sell the fixie.
Also the last two can be combined just that I haven't really tried longer than 10 miles on regular basis on brompton yet.

But a Brompton is essential esp in London Zone 2 and beyond.

Oh yeah and MTB at some point, dunno when

  • You forgot 'spare mtb' ( preferably SS )

  • if I didn't go bikepacking I would be SSforlyfe

  • Shit fixie skidders say>>>>>>>
    ;)

Sounds like a double win to me ;-)

You might appreciate your gears next week...

  • I've got four right now, & I'm pretty happy with that number. They all feel sufficiently different to each other, & I use them in different ways.

    • Graham Weigh - shiny fair-weather fixed gear.
    • Cinelli MASH Bolt - beater fixed gear.
    • Paul Donohue - fast roadie & road touring.
    • Genesis Croix de Fer - winter all-roadie, commuting, CX & short touring.

I do regret selling my tracklocross sometimes though, even if I was scared to ride it.

  • u still ride fixed?!

  • more than 10 sure...

  • Only on Thursdays at the moment, as that's when LSF (Leeds Singlespeed/Fixed) go out. Dynamo lights & big squishy tyres on the CdF have drawn me away over winter!

  • Not like right now though?!

  • I'm surprised it's that low

  • Working:

    1. Brompton s2l
    2. Singular Swift
    3. Salsa Casseroll
    4. Trek Madone
    5. Condor Pista
6/7. MTB pub bike (x2 - soon to be amalgamated to 1)

    To be built:
    Surly Orge
    Edison

Currently in a state of disrepair (not broken):
    Kona Lavadome (90s)
    GT Avalanche
    Raleigh Record Ace

Just got rid of 4 other bikes.

    Plus a ton of parts.

Also my wife's (Merc) Brompton, Identiti single speed and Pearson tourer.

My son is too young for a bike but we have a few lined up from his nieces and nephews.

  • Just the brace of Surlys for me.
Cross Check for family rides, commuting and mixed terrain rides.
Pacer for riding with the group I've just joined for Saturday morning jaunts into the Peaks and Cheshire.

  • Fancy road bike
Less fancy road bike / winter / audax machine
    90s fancy steel Road bike
    80s comfy steel road bike
80s steel light tourer / audaxer
Heavy as fuck rad 26er monstour instagram gumwall thing
    Hardtail 29er / bikepacking doodad
Sweet fixeh / sometime winter trainer

I feel like this is too many for me, but letting go is hard.

  • Crabon summer road bike
Alu 'adventure' audax / distance bike
Steel audax bike with mudguards, which also fits the turbo
    Steel SS commuter

The alu bike could tbh replace 3 of those bikes, but let's not say that aloud.

Currently shopping Workcycle FR8s, which my other half is amazingly signed off on as she can also ride it.
