No way, cool info. Wow I wonder if that means the car regularly parked right next to it (I live round the corner too) belongs to Joanna Lumley?
It just doesn't quite look right, though frankly anything parked next to that Aston is going to look weak. It has no badges on it, at first I thought it was a BMW Z1, but then got side on and saw those tell tale door handles, and was like WTF!, that's from a Triumph TR7 isn't it?....Its obviously not an ordinary TR7. DVLA has it listed as a 3.9 litre petrol, so probs an old Rover V8. Joanna has previous with TR7's too.

That could well be hers although I've mostly seen her driving around in a Smartcar (I think).

Good bit of detective work.
We were delighted when opera conductor and composer Stephen Barlow placed an order for one. His film star wife Joanna Lumley, when asked to contribute to the ‘Courvoisier Book of the Best’ it was the Grinnall V8 she proffered, describing it as ‘a hairy wizard of a car’ adding that driving it was a ‘bat-out-of-hell time!’

I'd say on balance that's too much of a coincidence.

@hudsoncjnr thanks, I'd never heard of it.
@Fox nice find, yep got to be hers. I knew she was local as I've seen her in the local Sainsbury's a few times.

Reminds me of this exemplar of taste in Hong Kong.

We’re dry assembling crank/crank carrier/engine cases and fitting a couple of pistons, then bolting a head on with two vales (inlet/exhaust) and the cam fitted to see if we need to machine more material from the valve reliefs. Moment of truth this- is there enough material on the piston crown to allow pockets deep enough for our larger valves and higher lift?

Also I missed the stage where we have to measure where the piston comes in the bore so we can then order new con-rods to allow our pistons to arrive at the correct place whilst hitting our 11.7 compression target

The interior matches complete with throw cushions! It's absolutely mad looking!

All the more gratuitous for being in Hong Kong where all the cars are tiny. I think they tax you on the size of your car?

Assuming that car belongs to Deborah Valdez, her and her husband are worth over half a billion so probably not that worried about that.

Always had a soft spot for the mk1 124 sport coupe
Looks like a bigger 850 coupe
The sad thing is ended up having the later cars that were no where near as pretty.
Many of the cheaper 124 spiders available were from the states:
While the euro cars were prettier with thin chrome bumpers and lower. Hence why so many were just debumpered

nice capture of the series there. we all have different tastes obviously. the one for me would be third series coupe. and that blue one you posted would be just perfect
Didn't know it had been her idea. Well I never!
