I got a very scratched but solid frame and fork, with only the right crank, and a poxy mini saddle. No headset, no LH crank, no Mag brakes but fortunately complete V adapters in place.
The crank has a freewheel so guessed it must have been a fixed rear. It’s gonna be easier (cheaper) to use the spare 20” bmx wheels with freewheel and swap the cranks for spare mtb ones for the time being.

The freewheel/cranks? Loads of options for that kind of thing at tartybikes.

I have a pair of trials cranks if you wanna keep the current setup going?

Ooooo... but then I’ll be putting money into this. PM’d

Erm I already posted that above

I have no idea how I missed that. What a salad brain.

Is there a way of checking if a rear hub (novatec) is 11speed compatible without fitting a 11spd cassette?
The model number has been removed from the hub. They had a 10speed cassette fitted with a very thin spacer.

Measure the width of the freehub

Thanks! It measures as a 10speed hub.
Was hoping it would be 11speed. :(

Legal question: After being a wayward dickhead for most of my life, I'm getting an adult passport for the first time. My Surname is different to my BC because my mum fell out with my dad and changed surname by deed poll..... So, how legal is it if I apply using my dads surname as it was changed 'legally'?
-
• #96240
Awesome, thanks!
-
• #96241
If you've been using your dad's surname as your normal name for a while it should be easy enough to deed poll it back again.

Thoughts on the Lynskey viale titanium frame deal from Wiggle?
I'm considering ti do it all frames on a budget. Think I'd prefer ^ to the Dolan ADX / on one pickenflick. Genesis/kinesis are too expensive.
What are my other options?

Anyone used this shop?
https://www.7hundred.co.uk/They have some ridiculously low priced wheels and I’m a touch worried they’re a bit too good to be true.

Is there any over the counter frames made from Reynold 921? How come it isn't more common for custom frames? Not fancy enough and you might as well get 953 if youre going custom?
-
• #96246
Reynold 925
I think you mean 921?

Been with my mums surname since 1989, I just can't find the deed poll paperwork to send off, I might just change it back though.

Right, thanks

How do you solve this (preferably using Gaussian Elimination)
x+2y-3z+w=-2
3x-y-2z-4w=1
2x+3y-5z+w=-3I thought you needed as many equations as variables to solve these.
-
• #96250
Yeah that's under-determined. You can't actually fully solve for all variables.
Did you get a full bike or just the frame? Mine had a fixed rear wheel and a freewheel on the bottom bracket with some super high amount of points of engagement. I don't know if they're still a thing you can get hold of any more, been about 15 years since I rode trials.
