Must be. Not big enough to be Claypit

Looks very Stanton Sherpa-esque with those gussets.

Saw a Pole Machine being built up at the bike park. It's the longest bike I've ever seen by a huge margin. Mental looking things!

Got a few MTB bits for sale. Including a practically new Reba RL fork going cheap (open to offers)
https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/332333/newest/New bike below.. in process of moving to Fox suspension. Have some 34s Performance Elites on the front now and a Evol Performance Elite shock (matchy matchy!) with remote lockout on the way over from France.
Said farewell to my Yeti and CAAD 12 recently. Now a one bike man.

hey after some advice on bike parks around London. Looking to take friends one weekend to a bike park so they can rent MTBs and have some good times on green/blue/(even red?!) trails.
Should we get to Swinley as early as possible to avoid crowds?
Would prefer trains (and a short ride on city bikes to rental is ok), but could look into car rental. Ta -

How bad of an idea is getting second hand squishy forks? Which brands are reasonably serviceable for the endeavoring home mechanic on a budget if an overhaul would be necessary?
-
• #13688
Apparently a bad idea. I bought some manitous and didn't die

Wait, I mean don't ask Howard

Swinley is your best bet, I think. Other bike parks exist a reasonably short drive from London but they tend to be more technical and on the gnar side.
The Queen Elizabeth Country Park on the South Downs is worth a look if it hasn't been raining. It has a chalk base so is skaty/slidy/icerinkydeath after rain.

have rockshox sid 120 29er forks I'm looking to shift - thru axle, non-boost. 200 quid.
recently serviced, work nicely, not impossible to work on yaself -
• #13693
It’s generally a bad idea - people don’t really follow the service intervals or have a clue about how they work so the chances of the condition being known let alone being described accurately is pretty slim.

I went through technically three forks in quick succession doing nothing hardcore, before giving in and sticking the rigids on the Acid. Would not recommend secondhand unless you know history.

Cheers. I heard some mixed feedback about Swinley blue trail - rocky, sudden sharp rises. But as you say it’s our best bet so will try it out.

You could ride the marked trails at swinley on a cx bike if you had to. There's nothing too gnarly there.
-
• #13697
swinley red is good, don't bother with the blue it's so fucking boring
-
• #13698
The Labyrinth at Swinley is the best thing. I really miss riding that.
-
• #13699
Ending of Blue is the best bit at Swinley IMO

The green is full on gnar though.
Well that's no reason not to upgrade now, is it?
