Found some boxes on the top shelf in the back of the warehouse?
Did not see them on the site before winter. -

Thanks - ordered.

• #6105
Are these a good all year round option?
-
• #6106
I generally only use them for fall/spring changeable conditions kind of rides.
Have been thinking about getting the new Corsa Control tyres as I use the G+ in the summer and have been happy with them. But these have been proven in the years before and were cheap.

Thanks, pretty much what I was gonna go with... I should be able to cram 25mm tyres into my frame, now where did I see that Facebook ad?

Got new tubeless wheels the other week so decided to try contis GP5000 tubeless, the are really sweet actually. Great allround grip and they dont mind a some skids, but overall a little grippy for skid lovers i would imagine

-
• #6111
Well Im racing a £50 tubeless, you really think you will get away with never skidding on a brakeless bike? ..
-
• #6112
And what kind of race is such you need to do skids?

Has anyone gp5000 28mm compared to 25mm gp4000s? Clearance is a bit tight on 25 gp4000s on my super six, so I'm assuming 28 deffo won't fit but just curious if anyone has managed it. Rims are 25 external I think.
-
• #6115
If you have the older SuperSix, then 25mm is the max recommendation, I do not advised going for 28mm regardless.
-
• #6116
It is an older one, I've just heard so many times that 4000s size up massive (as big as 28 in some cases). I'd like to ride the biggest tyres I can, and honestly don't expect to fit 28s, but was just curious...

Then stick with 25mm (actual), as there's a chance your chainstay will get worn through due to tyres rubs and result in needing repair/new frames if using larger tyres.

https://www.bicyclerollingresistance.com/specials/conti-gp4000s-ii-23-25-28gp5000 28 is 1.5mm wider than gp4000s 25 with the same rim and pressure in the above links

Aye, I knew what the answer was before I asked really!
Still can't decide gp5000 or Corsa g+ mind.
-
• #6120
Ah cool. I'd read that, don't know why I hadn't thought to check!
-
• #6121
Corsa G+ are lovely tyres and come up pretty close to claimed sizes (esp. on wide rims, mine came up to 26mm

I've gp4000s and Corsa g+ for a couple of years, can't decide between them. Tan wall might swing it, but what about the 4w saving at 40km/h (or whatever it is)??
Checked - 2w difference at 80psi. Lol.

• #6123
but what about the 4w saving at 40km/h (or whatever it is)??
Moot if the road surface isn't good, as long the pressure felt right for youy, that's all that important.

Anyone tried the planetx/Rivendell ruffy tuffy tyres: https://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/TYPART/ruffy-tuffy-folding-tyre-with-puncture-protection
Have really enjoyed riding the Mile Munchers and Jack Brown Green in a similar style but the nature of my commute requires more puncture protection.

Looking for some fast 25mm gum wall tyres. £60 max for the pair ideally.
Any suggestions?
Just ordered a set of 27c Paves on Wiggle, pretty cheap and just in time for Roubaix.
