  • Matt Berry can do no wrong, also - the greatest high-winds actor RADA has ever produced.

  • Matt Berry is a beautiful human.

  • Yeah agree, I’m just worried about Novak guy, just re watched Phoneshop recently and he was the most annoying character. And I don’t have audio at work so can’t even tell how shit/good is trailer

  • Original 2014 Kiwi film very good, well worth a look.

  • I only just found out there’s a season 3 of The Expanse. I enjoyed the first series, the 2nd slightly less so, but enough to be glad to have further easy weekday viewing in the ‘to watch’ list.

  • can’t even tell how shit/good

    I'd say it's "weird".

  • No one discussing just how awful Arrested Development has become?

Side Note: I don't always love Matt Berry-but the original film is borderline excellent, and he fits the the role for sure. Should be at the very least amusing

  • I don't always love Matt Berry

  • AO - some part of me says awesome, some part of me says its been done before

  • is that the one with the plot about interpretive vogue dancing?

  • that was the OA no?

  • Wasn't that just dreadful?

And yet, for some reason, I watched every episode.

  • I am holding off judgement until I've seen it all, S4 started badly but becomes funnier when you start to get a grasp of how things are coming together later in the season. But yeah I'm not finding myself laughing at it very often.

I don't know what exactly the problem is but I feel a lot of it has to do with the sound - my gut feeling is that in the past there were background sounds and a soundtrack and stuff and in the more recent series the sound is a lot more clinical and thus there's more pressure for the jokes to land (because if they don't it's dead silence). I have no idea if they've changed the sound people or something or if I'm just making this up but that's what it feels like to me. Maybe it's because they had to record a good chunk of it in studios and overdub it.

There is the whole Jeffrey Tambor situation as well...

  • thats it -
same as @TW for some reason i kept watching then at the end i wondered why did i!

  • Its the editing, and the constant ADR throughout the second half.

  • Anyone else started S2 of American Gods?

  • Makes me sad, I feel like they just need to re-edit it and it'll be good again. Not sure why they've made these decisions but I suppose it's all down to the cast availability problems

  • We're not sure we can be arsed to

  • Yes, first one was confusing but I was a bit stoned, second one was fun, both have some OTT gore and I'm enjoying them.

  • Wellington Paranormal was rubbish. Odd to see they're trying again.

Edit: oh this is a US version. Guess they will misunderstand the humour and butcher it like the Office etc.

  • I thought the office was the one thing they didn't butcher?

  • bit too much "ShakeyCameraMeansItsReal" on US office for me.

(UK) The Office - the leader and pinnacle of that style of comedy - copied and diluted ever since.
perhaps the reason i took to it so much was because it was exactly the same as the small software house i was working for at the time.....

  • Have you read the book? I haven't started season 1 yet, but was intrigued how different it is to the book.

  • I actually enjoyed Paranormal. not pretentious only 20 minutes long six episodes, but I think it's really good.
new series not US but Canada hehe, Waititi and Clement main writer-director, 3 British actors, fingers crossed its gonna be good
