They’ve been in production for 40 odd years and have been in demand the whole time.
Interesting reaction though- totally reversed from that of the Porsche forums.

Tbf I think once you're over 19yo, BBS are more or less the only aftermarket wheels which are suitable for a car.
(track / rally / etc. are obvs different)

Yeah but they’re all Porsche Guys and already committed to a car which is ‘wrong’.

Yes Tamiya body on a traxxas car. I know nothing of this stuff other than i have a friend who said its great fun and was begging me to race him so i had to get the porsche i could never have in full scale..
Its suprisingly easy to drive these even tho they are crazt fast. It likely does 60mph.
But unless you are racing someone its get old pretty fast :) Guess i did grow up a tiny bit after all, in some ways at least. -

Tried my nephews last summer. Immense fun for a few minutes then meh. Not worth the monies.

How did you paint it?

Helps if you have a track and a timing beacon so you can check your times. If you've just driving around a big open space aimlessly then, yep, it gets old real quick.

Actually i think tinkering with the car was perhaps more fun than driving it, if like said above, one has no track / time or competition etc.
These bodys come just clear plastics and you paint them from the inside and then apply a lot of decals. So very easy to paint as whatever you do will look more or less perfect.
That said, I bought an airbrush and lots of stuff just because i always wanted to try it. About as difficult as i thought it would be but saved by the ease of painting these bodies..

They look like five bolt?

Used to race nitro 10th scale at an outdoor track when much younger, much fun but expensive to stay current with it. All serious competition is electric now and has been for a long time, looks more boring to onlookers but puts more weight on driving skill and setup ability.

Used to play with them a lot as a kid - a big group of us took them to the woods and jumped and crashed them to destruction.
You're right - it's less fun on your own, though my own kid is about the right age now, so going to get them into it :)

Need to get this out again. If only I could control it. 😜

I would need to make it V8 powered, however.

Being left hooker what about the other cars that had the delta floorpan and integrale bits.

I had a '77 242. Ive had some neat cars (not fancy), and that was one of my favorites.

Pics of all neat cars plz thanks
Is there a new Defender?
I'm sure I saw what looked like a slightly more modern version of a blue/white one in the station car park the other week.
It almost had a bit of a FJ cruiser vibe.
Could have also just been a brand spanking new paint job.
