  • Just got back from Barcelona where I played with shooting skateboarding on film. Jesus, it's hard. Everyone recommended Portra 400, so that's what I got, but because it was always sunny and the film is so sensitive, I always had to keep the aperture closed almost all the way which ruined the depth of field. And I still need to learn a lot about correct exposure - some of the shots are either too dark, or don't have enough contrast. In hindsight, I think I should've got the Portra 160 and open the aperture a bit more.

    EOS 300 + Portra 400:

    Ricoh AF5 + ColorPlus 200:

  • You could easily shoot portra 400 at 100. Only two stops overexposed which is well within its latitude. Either way I wouldn't worry, lovely shots!
