Yes that would be suitable, we have nice surly ones here! you could use most things though
-

Give me a price on S type, cable disc, single speed then, I will swap the Jtek Ti seatpost from my S2L.
And when can I get it?
-
• #6330
No worries, buddy, just wanted to make sure you knew I was interested... They're sixty bucks each here so if the postage isn't too steep I'll grab them...

S2L

its Ti fork and rear triangle .. will have standard post tho.
Will also be selling S6L with SON dynamo but a friend of mine is keen on that, he is test riding a few to figure out if he wants 6 or 2.
Its quite ugly tho.

£900 for the M6L with SON ... bargain.
I will also sell you the ti fork/triangle on his behalf for £500
-
• #6337
I'm sure it is. Don't want SON, don't want M, don't want 6, don't want Ti so largely irrelevant how much of a bargain it is for me.
-
• #6338
what does one desire?
-
• #6339
A cheap, tatty or even broken (to repair) S type. 2 or 3 speed I guess. I'm not seriously in the market, just always keeping an eye out.
-
• #6340
I’d be interested in the Ti if the price could be negotiated...
-
• #6341
the price could not be, The rrp is over £750, brompton have none, so its simple supply and demand, even so, the standard asking is £550/600 and I have sold multiple pairs at that + shipping
-
• #6342
Should we wait til it turns up or do you want rid straight away? Happy to get those sent out, they're out of stock here anyway... Everything is out of stock here... So if they're 2019 they're brand spankers?
I'll PM you in the AM, it's my bedtime... Thanks, man...

PM in the AM, we can sort out there!

Just cleaned my 2sl and did some general maintenance.
Deffo need to replace the drive chain - @maynardeames is it worth sticking with the standard Brompton replacements? Pretty sure it's a 54t chainring.
Also the chain tensioner looks slightly out of line - I replaced it 2 or three years ago but they aren't the most hardy of parts. Worth going for a better aftermarket solution?
Finally, my brommie is a raw lacquer version. I've just noticed a couple of spots where there are bits of surface rust - like around the hinge lever. Something to be concerned about?

Does the suspension block ever need replacing? As in does it maintain the same damping level or does it somehow deteriorate over time?
-
• #6346
Generally, you can find aftermarket stuff but it probably won’t be as good / functional as stock!
Aftermarket tensioners are ££ and generally crap!Vostok tensioner is brilliant, but only suitable for IHG
Shouldn’t cause any trouble for a long time, a bit of internal wax from wurth and gt85 for external will help.

• #6347
In theory yes, I have seen a few super old ones battered.
New ones are cheap, so worth doing so if concerned
-
• #6348
Thanks, that's all very helpful!
-
• #6349
buy the new style, comes with new style hook, done.
Thanks, assuming you meant the new style will solve the flex problem, I've just ordered!

the chain tensioner looks slightly out of line
Hmmmm, I think mine looks a bit pissed, although could be my eyes. Back-pedalling to get the crank out the way for the fold, the tensioner won’t hold down, just rises up. The jockey wheels are clean and smooth, and the bearings in the hub are also fine. Would a bent tensioner do this?
hmm whats my option to go single speed then?
can I just get a 135mm SS hub and use brompton tensioner ?
