Sorry to hear about the Parkinson's mate and awesome that he is riding again!

Thanks. Such is life. Talking about it and dealing with helps.
My dad and I try to look at it as a design challenge :) -

The Tour de France is nice and all but this is the real beauty of cycling

I reckon you could still drill a hole for the kickstand in the chain-monostay near the bb. Otherwise you could fit a chainstay-specific kickstand. I think there's also Tubus front rack-specific kickstands intended for tourers with lots of front load

Yes to both points. I remember waiting to board a ferry and seeing a couple of tourers casually unfold the small kickstand on the front rack - now that's serious business.
Cool bike anyway!
( @Hulsroy I haven't followed the brake lever story but if you're looking for single-speed levers I have a pair of TRP RRL SR you can have if you want. Gum hoods.)

Yeah. I am thinking about exactly that. I am just worried about the tube collapsing. I might design something that evens out the pressure.
I am going to London Green Cycles later to pick up a Omnium Kickstand

I have had a look at the Tubus kickstand. I reckon the omnium will be superior. No?

Well it looks cooler. Which is the main thing

I reckon the omnium will be superior
Yeah. You'll still need the tubus one if you don't want the bars spinning with a heavy front load

I'm not especially familiar with Parkinson's but would it be easier for him to use a one-legged kickstand (Tubus) than a two-legged one? You have to lift the bike up with the Omnium type one which means two hands lifting the bike, balance on one leg + kick the stand out with the other. With the one legged stand you just kick it out whilst holding the bike upright on the ground.
Explained that poorly but hopefully you know what I mean - Omnium type requires more coordination and balance to use (though they are much more stable)

I think he'll be fine with the omnium one tbh.

A waste of time really but also strangely satisfying.
My style consultants opted for a ratty finish.

These are dope! Easy make these and sell!

Well. Second one was a lot easier and looks prettier.
But I am not sure I'd want to do this for a living :)

I am too tired to finish the bike. But it won't be long until it is ridable...

The omnium one is super solid! Maybe too solid, in this case? Takes some force to put down.

• #2124
Ok. We will see. I will have to assess that when I have it in my hands. He is a big lad my dad :)
