  • I’m not endorsing Ochowicz’s comments. Just posting them.

Sure CCC isn’t the first team to sign a rider without checking properly. See Sky and JTL.

  • I'd hate to cast any doubt on his good name, especially without any evidence, but you know who else lives in Austria? Moscon

  • Anyone know where HITLER and JOSEF FRITZL were from? CASE CLOSED.

  • Hello,
I am a 4th year university student carrying out research for my final dissertation which is an investigation into the effects which doping has had on the credibility of cycling to its community, and I am looking for survey responses from individuals with an already current relationship and passion for cycling. The survey takes roughly 4 minutes to complete and can be found through the link provided below.

    https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/39PMD7X

By partaking in the survey respondents are agreeing for the results to be used within my final project and this will be done so with complete anonymity. I hope the subject is of interest to many of you.

    Thank you

  • This is how they recruit you...

  • Wasn't there an article that says Sky knew of JTL's blood profile before signing him.

  • Extremely doubtful, as that’s not how longitudinal testing works. The changes that caught out Tiernan-Locke were due to the variations in his values from before his time at Sky, when he was doping, and when he was at Sky when he wasn’t.

  • As I understand he didn't have won as it wasn't used at level he was racing at. He moves up to the World Tour and got pinged immediately.

Not to mention his utter racehorse to donkey transformation overnight.

  • Did Team Sky or Oli Cookson ever get to the bottom of Sergio Henao's ABP values

  • Interview with one of the skiers said they were transfused concentrated Red Blood Cells immediately before a race then extracted blood immediately after before the markers that might trigger their off score could develop.

  • Which sounds like bullshit. Anyone who is on the podium in cycling is chaperoned until they are through doping control.

  • We are still awaiting the promised academic study...

  • Sky only pay attention to detail when it suits.

It’s possible they were on the stolen laptop.

  • Great survey. Got a coupon code for 15% off next Epo or Blood bag purchase upon completion

One thing that is not clear in this most recent case. Are only the athletes subject to criminal charges in Austria or coaches / doctors as well?

  • But are other sports, like this one where doping hadn't made the headlines before, as advanced as cycling?

Perhaps they just lie down and bleed quietly in the snow.

  • Very few people are going to see your survey if you post it in an existing thread. A separate thread is a better idea. Make sure you get yourself a username, too. :)

  • If you didn't know about the rampant doping in cross country skiing, you must've been living under a proverbial rock.

  • No, of course I don't live under a rock.

    Wait, what's a rock?

  • Come to think of it, I probably have heard of it in cross-country skiing, most likely through this thread, but I didn't take my memory-boosting drugs and so forgot all about it. :)

  • Could this not be the case in skiing? I follow cycling a bit but skiing not so much, but I get the feeling that cycling is a few years ahead of other sports when it comes to doping and how it's managed?

  • Isn’t cross country skiing the sport with the highest dependence on aerobic capacity?
Also there is a much longer out of competition season, so plenty of time for doping.

  • Biathletes must all be on the juice

  • No doubt some people can read Pinot's reaction to the recent blood doping cases and still believe 'they are all at it' but for me it's the best illustration I have seen of how things have changed and the genuine loathing of cheating that is now the norm.

  • I think many sports are way ahead of cycling when it comes to being so big and flooded with power and money that doping is hardly ever a topic at all
