Interesting, is that due to processing pedalling dynamics data or something?
-
• #9178
Not sure. But the battery lasts half the time with Vectors on.

You'll need the Power Agent software, but that can do auto uploads to Strava
Having recently built the wheel, I just took it for a spin today. I now have a ride uploaded from the Joule, and another from my Garmin. Do you know if there's a way to combine them, or am I going to have to deal with it for now?

2 sets of data for the same ride? I'm not aware of any way to combine them, nope. I'm sure it's technically possible, I'm just not aware of any numpty-level tool which will do it. Fit file tools has a file combiner function but I think that's for splicing together sequential rides rather than merging two concurrent ride files.
Edit: Looks like TP can do it using its AutoMerge function.

I think DC Rainmaker has a tool specifically for this purpose which he uses to compare devices.

• #9182
Sounds like a fantastic fucking waste of time though.
-
• #9183
I think he exports the data in CSV format and then uses Excel for graphs.

Does he ever sleep? The world must know.

Dunno. But I'm sure whichever Garmin Manbangle he's currently rocking 24/7 will know the answer. Or at least think it does - my Fenix 5X can't tell the difference between me:
- Sleeping
- Sitting at my desk at work quietly reading long and boring documents.
- Sitting in my comfy chair watching the telly at home.
It claims I'm sleeping during all three. Not true. Promise. Well, maybe a bit.

Yeah. I'll just leave it for now, until I feel like throwing money at another GPS device
Comparing Strava estimated power to actual power is ridiculous. It's so far out that it's utterly pointless

Comparing Strava estimated power to actual power is ridiculous. It's so far out
Well yeah, I mean one is supplied in real time from a specific device and the other is produced after the fact by some black box calculation.
that it's utterly pointless
Not really - it gives you low / medium / high which is probably good enough if you don't mind your power information coming to you after the ride is over. It will answer the 'did I smash it?' question.
I mean let's face it - owning a power meter is pointless unless you are really systematic and scientific in your training.

You can't handle the truth

It's true. I was blown away by my awesome wattage

Anyone have any experience with iQsquare powermeters? I think they are still in pre-order, but seem too good to be true.

I enjoy the monthly, it's shipping soon updates.

- If we have learnt anything from the last decade, it's that you should never order a PM which is not in full rate production of at least the second iteration.
- If we have learnt anything from the last 200 millennia, it's that things which seem too good to be true usually are.
- Whatever power you make, it will be less after you've increased your Q factor by 30mm by fitting that IQ2 adapter

too good to be true
Indeed.
Also, asking about experience of something that's pre-order... seems... odd.

The website is swish tho

Anyone remember Limits power meters? Same idea, and I suspect the same doomed outcome.

All very good points.

Anyone on here interested in a 2nd gen stages 6800? Selling on behalf of brother in law, he's looking for £210
I had to warranty my first pair after 3 days but the second pair has been really good.
Only issue is battery life of your Garmin head unit. The pedals eat the battery!
