  • I think the A Pillar obscuring the view is the most likely here. The driver should have slowed and taken more care - it is there duty, but I often get freaked out approaching a roundabout, or other merging junction and find that our combined approach speeds mean I can't see the driver at all, because of the A Pillar front right of their windscreen. That means they probably can't see me, normally to the last moment. The increasing size of A pillars to create a safer vehicle for big collisions does not make for better driver visibility.
