Cheers, lots of sweaty grimacing for me.
I'm sure the modelling agencies have their letters in the post...

Aye, a bit wank isn't it? One way around GDPR anyway.

I don't have a Facebook account. My pictures are trapped in the internet ether.

Give me your number and I should be able to generate a link

GDPR
Never thought of it in those terms. Pete Brown Photography was there too, he is also via fb but without any other catch.

No worries. I don't need to see any pictures from yesterday!

Away from xc, I won an eBay race for an OMM 32l bag this weekend. Will be running heavy all spring & summer. #packallthethings

How is the GDPR in effect if I can just type in any bib number and post that person’s photos to my FB profile?
My sons both got told they would be disqualified because they had folded their bib numbers over and obscured the sponsor name ... this in the U13 race. (They wanted their club logo showing, not an attempt at aero-gainz)
It seemed a bit draconian but the subsequent requirement for full facebook access in order to see the photos now adds up.. still a little unpalatable.
I just told them to stop whinging, if they’d finished in the top three they could have seen their photo in Athletics weekly.

a bit non plussed by my run yesterday, got carried away early doors, and ended up with a badly paced race with a final 5k death march and blisters all over my feet, turns out not tapering at all for a half marathon doesn't result in a good time! lovely day to be out running though!

Gold and white shurely?

If you're talking about my appearance, I'm definitely more old than gold. My beard is white though

Def white and gold - like my vest

Did a great 30km yesterday.
Nothing organised, just a pootle to start upping the miles for Race To the Stones, but finally managing to take hydration and nutrition seriously and as a result ended feeling really fresh. Ran along the Trent in the fog and finished just as it started to burn off.
I've always had a bad habit of starting to eat and drink too late and end up desperate at the finish. I used some electrolyte tabs, and not sure if that made a big difference, but it makes 100km feel a fair bit more manageable.
Would be great to know from others who have upped to ultra distance how they manage food and drink on training runs.

food and drink
Eat before you're hungry, drink before you're thirsty is one approach.
I eat regular grazing, tend to drink to thirst though.

Grab whatever food is to hand (often none) on the way out of the door and run out of water half way through is my MO.
By seriously, I take a least a litre of water on long runs. Plan in a pub stop to refill if really hot (and buy coke and crisps). Generally drink to thirst.
Often I don't eat on longer training runs, just breakfast and head out. Generally have an emergency gel in the pack just in case. The idea being it trains the body to use what it's already got stored. No idea if there is any real science behind it but seems to work for me. -

First interval session of the marathon training today. Not looking forward to it. Only 5x800m with 90s walking breaks, but I've not done any interval work for quite a while.

Well done to all the XC people at the Nationals. Tynan sort of enjoyed it, but twisted his ankle a bit on the downhill. Definitely didn't sound very XC-y conditions. Finished in the top half, and first London Heathsider. Plenty to build on for next year (if he wants) when he'll be top of the age group with a year's club training/competing in his legs.
I got another 7th place finish this week (1st V45) in the Thames Hare & Hounds 'Dash For The Splash' 10k. Really fun route with hills, twisty wooded singletrack, fallen trees to hurdle, a few boggy patches, and a brook to cross (ended up being about 10m wading, wet shorts 'n' all). Sticky toffee pudding instead of a medal. Delicious, but made my bag a bit heavy on the way home.

Feeling really torn at the moment. Running is going well - I haven't done anything too intense in a while but have been upping weekly miles nicely and really enjoying them. However, cycling is going really well too, and it'll always come up trumps vs running.
My girlfriend is training for a half marathon and I'm enjoying running with her. I guess my question is:
Should I be able to ramp up to a half marathon with her, while ramping my cycling fitness up to take part in some time-trials and crits etc?So many things, so little time

just personal experience but I'm in much the same situation and I've found running really helping my cycling fitness. In particular the short speed work my wife has been doing as part of her marathon training feels like it helps my short burst fitness on the bike. Admittedly I've been racing cross so the efforts are fairly similar in terms of hr and running is actually useful for that too. But I think also the time taken off to go running at a steady pace, and enjoying spending that time with my wife, has also helped me stop overtraining and actually allowed the muscles I use when cycling to recover more as I'm having more rest (ie running) days.

Plenty of triathalopes train for both (and swimming) at the same time, look at some tri training plans.
Nice one!
Sounds good run too @omash27
