  • Well, they're not perfect but still far better than a combustion powered car as far as I can tell.
    The Tesla factories are in themselves, self sufficient and net zero energy consumption. In regards to battery production, I've read the figure of 2.4 years of driving an average of 15k miles to have reached the same carbon output from battery production as running an equal sized petrol car (I think an audi was used as control). After that, you're saving.
    They have the ability to recycle 100% of the batteries produced also, which is nice.

    Don't think anyone thinks Teslas are perfect but I reckon its a step in the right direction
