10 watch slots. I've only got three, and a Garmin.

Six Swatches wouldn't cost the earth.

Talk is cheap, and mine is probably cheaper than most. When the Seamaster arrives I'll have three Omega and one Seiko, plus the trusty Garmin.
-
• #33158
Just curious, how do you currently store them?
-
• #33159
Speedy Tin Tin, Railmaster, Ploprof. That’s three Omegas so far. Lol
Seiko and Garmin make 5. Are my mathematical skills letting me down ?
And I’m only jesting. But, you do need an Apple Watch!

@inchpincher if TGR doesn’t I’ll take it. Missed it first time around. Cheers

I never bought a Ploprof- warned off the one in Winchester by the chap who (literally) wrote the book on them.

Erm, they tend to get put down wherever I am when I want to take my watch off. So they usually end up on a random shelf, as I’ve filled my flat with book shelves.
A thief would have a hard time finding them, which is a plus I suppose.

I kept mine in a pile in a drawer until fairly recently, when my wife bought me a storage box.
Not sure I get the safe thing. That's probably because I'm a little bit odd in that I don't get sentimental about replaceable things. It'd be different if any of my watches were truly one offs though. They are of course insured to fuck.

My various lumps are chucked into my Jurassic Park case. It would have looked like this one off ebay, had I actually kept any of the original contents safe. Really wish i still had the holographic watch.

Changes when you've been robbed/ broken into /violated.
What you using pelican?

Have been burgled a few times unfortunately. Hasn't changed much. Apart from having good insurance.
Nah, custom made wooden box.

After our immediate neighbour got broken into I figured for the sake of a £50 secondhand safe I would at least make it awkward for them. I think most burglers are just in and out, car keys, cash, jewellery, posh handbags.
Insurance can go down with a safe too.The sentimental thing is interesting, I’m far more careful and attached to vintage watches than modern, regardless of cost.

I know you're right about the safe. Perhaps I need to reconsider.

How have you your watches insured? Additional to normal house insurance?
-

Bolted to the floor, or too heavy to move?
-
• #33171
It is screwed into a joist but not that heavy for its size (needed to accommodate some handbags). Probably 70kgs, some I looked at were 200+.
It came out of an old Barclays Bank, possibly held the coin judging by the state of the shelves.

Gives you a Chubby? etc
Anyone interested in a nice Wolf 10 watch box? I already have one and bought this as a second for the safe but because it gets so cold I’ve had to go full peli-case (possibly paranoid).
I purchased from @Stonehedge six months ago here, it’s still in the same perfect condition.
£45 posted?
