I used to work with a Polish guy who was a bit of a rascal and didn't mind the odd wind up. I decided to teach him a bit of British etiquette by suggesting the polite way to excuse yourself if you needed to do a dump at a dinner party was to say "Please excuse me. I have to evict my lodger."
