You could counter by saying that you get something bespoke and lets you add over time...
...but when so many end up as Subs, Sinns, or Tudors I do wonder what the point it - especially Sinns and Tudors. Also the middle range Seikos are so similar sizing to the SKX007/9 and tend to be better with better movements, so I wonder why not just buy those?
At the moment I'm keeping my modding desires in check by trying to "stay true" to the og ethos / vibe of the SKX (that sentence makes me a little bit sick) which is why I'm not sure about things like ceramic bezel inserts.
All that said I am currently trying to get a sub-style bezel... for a watch I've just put an Oyster bracelet on... but that's because I think the bezel is pretty weak - a bit too shiny and slippy - I've started using it a lot and am now really noticing it.
No one seems to comment on the bigger SKX007/009 bezel, so I wonder if it works better being a little bigger.
An uninterrupted period of time to do it!
Yeah I thought I'd ask in case it was something you were interested in.
After this watches lacklustre performance I would probably want the unbound movement to be serviced or checked over. I just need to find someone not too expensive. As much as I enjoy the watch - especially now with the bracelet, which I think has really made it - there's a point at which a cheap modified seiko becomes a false economy... although until my home insurance comes back down I wouldn't want any other watch.
