  • My gf wants me to bring a load back from London because they haven't made it out to Guildford yet. I did try, but I ate them all while sat at my desk haha. Too moorish.

  • finally had a Greggs Vegan - meh, not a patch on the frozen Linda M's if you ask me

  • Too moorish.

    You eat them with chickpeas?

  • The magic of Gregg's ones is all about the convenience for me. Magical hangover options on the high street!

  • true dat I guess!

  • ^ they must be putting some sort of crack in these sausage rolls

  • He has lost lots of weight and looks great, and is happy with his choice. But I feel sad that he may never cook another delicious chicken dinner for me, and I am seething underneath that he immerses himself in vegan “propaganda” and has withdrawn from the family culinary traditions.

  • Much like Mr Packham I've been a long time veggie and vegan all January and am carrying on forever. Didn't do it as Veganuary but it seemed as good a time as any to give up the cheese, which I'd been considering for a while.

  • Excellent.

  • Wow... someone needs to get their priorities straight... considering the guy's just lost someone, it all seems a bit me, me, me! Me and the GF manage to live along side each other and have done for a few years now... it's clearly harder for some people to consider what their other half wants in a relationship I guess

  • In 30 years of being veg then vegan, I've never once had a relationship with anyone who didn't eat meat/dairy, and it's never been a particular issue. But this is clearly not a person who has many touchpoints with reality:

I don’t believe veganism is a good choice for personal or planetary health

tbh - I'm loving all the howls of the defeated - they've always known they've been selfish, complacent, cruel and just plain wrong, and hate that they're finally being called on it.

    indeed

  • I have been with my wife 13 years this year. I went veggie 6 months after we met and I went vegan last January. My wife has been omnivore this whole time and it's never been an issue.

I can cook though and so can she, we eat vegan at home for all meals.

  • Any recommendations for a nice vegan restaurant near waterloo?
Or am I stuck with the chains?
Happy to travel a little bit

  • Just got new boots from Will Vegan Shoes. Oh, the bliss...

  • Vegan milk for Yogi Tea / Chai

I UTFS but it did not bring up much - so want to ask everybody: what do you reckon is the best vegan milk for these drinks?
In the original recipes the tea (made of vairous spices) is being boiled, then milk is added and it's brought to a boil once more. What kind of vegan milk is good for this?
I'm not of use to try various kinds and decide for myself as I always disliked milk in the first place so never really tried the vegan stuff apart for one or two cake things - but planning to prepare the tea for others, hence me asking..

  • IMO Oatly Barista is prob the best, especially for heating to high temps. Some people find it a bit rich though.

  • Thanks for the feedback!
I think "rich" might be ok in this scenario (whatever rich oat tastes like).
    : ]

  • I would have suggested any oat milk as that’s what I occasionally use to make a golden Latte (is that what that turmeric drink is called). It’s good for that and personally the oatly barista is a bit rich for me, because of all the oil added :)

  • Thank you too!

I think you're speaking of "golden milk".

Added oil in vegan milk, huh? Hmm.

    Ingredients
Oat base (water, oats 10 %),
    rapeseed oil,
    acidity regulator (dipotassium phosphate),
    calcium carbonate,
    calcium phosphates,
    iodised salt,
    vitamins (D2, riboflavin and B12)

  • Alpro Oat Unsweetened 👌🏻

  • Yea might try that as well once I get over how shit the packaging looks!

  • That’s the name. Thank god I didn’t say Golden Latte out loud in public 😂

Something unsweetened sounds perfect. Here we have Naturli oat, I reckon it’s the same as alpro unsweetened. Go for that.
