Thanks, I read this article last night:
https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/tudor-black-bay-gmt-review
and the reason I got confused was that they ignore the GMT hand always showing GMT.
I guess to most people, always showing GMT is irrelevant. It just so happens that GMT is also our home timezone, so when people discuss how to use a GMT, always showing GMT becomes the "3rd option" whereas to us in the UK, rotating the bezel to show an optional 3rd timezone is the "3rd option".

I still want a GMT Master.

I think most people do use GMT as their home time. For e.g. I wouldn't militantly use GMT, I'd just keep it to current UK time.
@Dammit - you should get one. Or a Master II.... although they do now seem expensive for what they are. I'm sure I remember them being £3-4k second hand. Any particular reason for preferring the original one?
Got to grudgingly admit it, but like a no-date sub, OP, or day-date, Rolex do nail it. When taken in the round I can't think of another GMT that actually executes it better. My choice would be 16710, black bezel.

What about BST? Do GMT wearers have a 1hr diff when we're in BST?
-
• #32981
People who "need" a GMT shouldn't be using BST for anything. It's UTC/GMT or nothing if you're a pilot etc.

@freddo or @Stonehedge would either of you be up from swapping a 6R15 or NE15 into a SKX013?
https://seikoparts.wordpress.com/2018/09/20/skx-supercharged-mod-with-6r15/
My watch's timekeeping isn't great, but in particular every now and then it seems to drop 5-10mins. I figured a movement swap wouldn't be much different in price to a service.

Forgive my ignorance but does the Steinhart quality exist throughout the range?
If so, then this one meets most of my wish-list...

Every watch I have of theirs is amazing. Ask anyone who's owned one on here and they'll say the same. Its not a rolex, AP, PeePee, but for The money, its great. Who agrees?
If it ticks your boxes, you can't go wrong for the price. I'd say do it.

Such a nice distinct design. I feel this could be a future classic if they'd stick to the aesthetic. Power reserve reminds me of this 3710-1A

After spending a few days in Rome - have to say I really fancy a Panerai. Saw some really swaggy blokes rocking them. Tried one on and sat pretty nicely on my wrist.

Don't do it loins. Don't do it.

Yeah. I don't get the Panerai hate either.

Yup that’s the one. Only issue for me with is it, is the lack of sandwich dial, which I would really love. Might be that they release a newer version at some point.
So far as I understood, you'd have your GMT hand set to "home" time (GMT or whatever) and then when you adjust the main time (in hour increments) the GMT hand stays at the same time.
On the cheaper end the GMT adjusts as well when you change the main time so you then have to separately adjust that back after you've adjusted the main time.
