Proper selvedge jeans

Hah. I remember those. I still wear mine once in a while. And keep an unused pair in the closet.
Great denim and great details on these. The front pockets are a bit awkward though.

Never worn! Tried on and they're lovely (the inside pocket prints are cool), but I prefer a slimmer fit...

Swrve stuff is fantastic, lasts forever... Be careful and check their sizing tho'... They did a short run of selvage cycling jeans for a while, not sure if they ever revisited that model...

Is it the cordura jeans one ? I don't see any specific cycling jeans with reinforced gusset

I wear the durable cotton regular shorts every single day of my life and I've never blown out a crotch... The reflective belt loop might snap or the pocket will get a hole in it but that's it and an easy, cheap fix... I think the construction is the same on all their trousers, check the website...

Same here, my oldest swrve shorts are prob 10 years now and they're worn and torn but not in the crotch

Zara chinos - the ones that are slightly elasticated with LYCRA. Much better than jeans - smart enough, casual enough, fit comfortably on a bike, don't wear at the crouch.

For something constantly soaking up your ball / fanny sweat they'll wash better thereby being be more hygienic.
