Anyone else has contacts or recommendations for wooden contact points for an ECM machine?
The german options I have seen online are 300€ for 3 bits of wood, which seems steep.

Etsy? What does the attachment point look like? Some kind of lumberyard/home centre might have a variety of handles available too.

It is an ECM Syncronika.
Each handle will need to have a bespoke attachment for each brand I guess.
The contact @bazschmaz gave me is well versed in wood work but has not done those before

I'd say this guy could sort you out. I have some of his spoons/utensils and they're top notch

Edit. Just re-read I doubt he's done ECM handles before either.

Even an old cane or umbrella handle could be easily pressed into service.

I saw this thread a while back. Might be worth asking the guy how much he charges.

I know a guy called builtbybasil on instagram, he made me a wooden gearknob from recycled skateboards but he can use normal wood too.
Here it is:

this was a bit more advanced than "just" a gearknob because he had to insert metal in the middle to weight it for me.
That cost me £50 so probs £150ish for 3 handles?

What happened to the old handles? Did you brake them?

Not, it is just to upgrade from plastic to something nicer to look at / use.
I don't have the machine yet, it is being built.

So I chipped one of the ceramic burrs on my Vario while cleaning it. So after I got over the stupidity of doing that I ordered a replacement pair. I'm putting the replacements in now. The lower burr went in fine but the upper one is stuck in the burr holder. It's a really snug fit and now won't move. I'm terrified of chipping it again...what do I do?

What are people saying is a good home use burr grinder?
I mostly aeropress (probably 10-14 times a week), partner uses a moka religiously (5-7 a week), we very occasionally make drip or french press (few/month).
Recommend me something, experts.

No expert, me, but I really like my Helor 101.

Depends on your price range but I have had a Gaggia MDF grinder for near 20 years which will do all those things. I use it daily. (The Wilfa also gets good reviews although I've not used one personally).

What's the verdit on making filter the night before and popping it in a thermos for the next day? Will be filling it to the brim so hopefully that'll minimise any issues with exposure to air.

Interesting. I’ll try that next week.

When I have to wake up super early I usually make a filter coffee the night before and drink it in the morning cold. Can’t imagine sticking it in the thermos will detriment the quality too much. Only one way to know for sure I guess :-)

Will give it a go this evening and report back!

So like an idiot, I've ordered the wrong coffee from the barn - I have an espresso roast and I wanted filter.
Anyone fancy swapping a 250g bag of barn huye mountain, Rwandan (unopened, roast date 25 Jan) for a similarly high end fresh bag of filter - or just buying this bag for cost (I've already paid delivery from Berlin) and I'll grab something else to replace it?

I've lost the stopper to my Primus 200ml flask. Now discontinued.
Any other reccomendations at that size? Must be flask not mug.
Update
Found! It was inside the lemon juicer. Partner denies all knowledge. Hmmm.

That's still gonna be tasty as a filter
-
• #15698
I always find espresso roasts too dark for filter duties, just seems a waste to drink a high end espresso roasted coffee that way... But that is my backup plan if noone wants it

Filter coffee made night before and left in thermos tastes perfectly fine this morning. Temp had dropped but was still a little too hot to drink right away.

Re. Frank Green cups, I have the standard one which is great, but now wondering about the Stainless steel version, what's the insulation like? thinking of getting one for my good wife, she has a keep cup but she ain't a fan, and something that can retain a bit of heat would go down well.
All sound great - many thanks for the help. Will feed back!
