  • Alright kiddos. Hoping for some advice here.

It's my folks Sapphire wedding anniversary this weekend and I want to get my dad something with a sapphire crystal. It also needs to be easy to read, automatic, British if poss, metal bracelet, and on the larger side as he's got hands like shovels. Gold, oddly, would be fine here but there aren't many gold watches in the sub £300 range.

I like the look of the Smiths Everest by Timefactors but as it's not an actual Smiths I don't know if they're worth the cash. Any feedback? Or any other ideas for similar watches?

I'm idly considering the SNZH60 by Seiko. It's not British but it ticks all the other boxes so far as I can see.

  • You could have a look through Page & Cooper’s site, they sell a few British microbrands. Sapphire crystal and mechanical movement at that price might be an ask though. Even Seikos don’t usually get sapphire for under about £800 rrp.

The Everest is a winner tho.
