A bit of poly-watch significantly reduced how visible the scratches are, but they're pretty deep so (I suspect) beyond the scope of manual polishing. Omega said £140 to fix, so I'll leave it for now, get it done when I have the watch serviced
Also, I'm on the list for the 1948 Seamaster (12th of a list of 10) so if two people drop out I'll be collecting that in March (in theory!), at which point I might see if Omega would take a look at my Speedmaster, "as I'm here", but that's pure conjecture as to whether they'd pop a new hesalite crystal in. Given that I buy a watch per year from the same Omega boutique I'd think there's a fair chance, however.
