For sure and I wouldn’t go with a company like that either. It’s basically an apparel item made from a synthetic performance fabric. However most suppliers also provide at least one wool or merino product. I’d be fine with it personally because as you say, it’s good to promote the vegan alternatives since even non vegan companies will in turn produce more of the good stuff and less of the bad if the market goes that way.
I think it's a good thing - mainstream companies offering non-animal based products not only makes it seem less niche and more likely to be seen by the consumer, but (hopefully) will show large corporations that the market exists and these products are valid alternatives
