Had a high+long 2006 Connect. Inside was just about long enough for a double bed, bikes underneath. Not enough headroom left to insulate. The newer Connects are one "mid" height rather than having low and high. This class of van isn't big enough to be a 2 person camper without fitting a poptop.
Now driving a 6m long H2L3 Boxer.

You know there's a middle ground between a Clio and and Transit, right?
Unless you're actually going to use the extra space on a regular basis just get something which will take your bikes with the front wheels off. Then use a tent. A normal car has the advantage of having back seats if you want to go somewhere with mates.
Anyone ever owned a caddy/kangoo/transit connect style panel van as an only car?
Have loved owning my clio trophy for the past 2 and a bit years but getting very tired of bikes on the roof and never actually driving it how it's meant to be driven, so looking at trading in for a small panel van. Obviously has to be euro 6 for ulez, not sure if I'd go kombi or just 2 seats, but would love to fully insulate the back and use it as an all round bike/camping/outdoor utility vehicle.
