I thought the coffee was terrible but I'm now OK with it as I'm nearing the end of the bag.
If you don't like it too sweet I say go for it. If you are OK with sweetness the Berry is best -

Oh I don’t put sugar in my hot drink especially coffee. And I did try a bag of berry and I hated it. I had to blend in loads of actual berries to cover the weirdly strong powder taste, I don’t get the same powder taste with vanilla and / or unflavoured... I actually quite like the real berries blended with vanilla.
Speaking of vanilla, are we talking about the original vanilla or the new and improved version? Coz I am also tempted to try the original vanilla. I have no problem with the new and improved but thought why not the the original vanilla. Is that sweeter or not a sweet?

I didnt particularly notice a difference really. Lots of people much preferred the original on the forums though

I’ve done actual berries too. They work great, unless you overdo the blackberries and then leave it in the fridge too long. The pectin starts to make it set slightly...

Tried the coffee flavour this mormning, it was alright but yes, it's quite weak... and OMG it is sweet, not sickening sweet, but not far off... might add a shot next time...

Anyone tried the ready-to-drink stuff yet? Does it taste different?
Whilst it does seem bad that they’re resorting to plastic bottles I still think net it is probably better for the environment. There a few times when I either forget to make Huel before work or just leave it in the fridge and then resort to Pret etc then having a few RTD Huel’s in a drawer at work could solve that problem.
Also, perhaps this is a step towards mass production - will I be able to walk into a shop one day and buy a RTD Huel off the shelf?

• #708
Keep a bag of powdered Huel in a drawer at work, and prepare it there, instead?
-
• #709
I just buy two bags of powder and leave one at work, one at home
-
• #710
Yeah I knew everyone was going to say that but I quite like blending my Huel the night before and leaving it in the fridge. My work didn’t have a fridge so keeping it refrigerated overnight seemed a good option.

I would be tempted to try the bottle stuff if I could just add 1 or 2 bottle as a sample test with my next order. I have a feeling they would be too sweet for me, and a bit expensive compared to the powder.
I, too, blend mine the night before as I almost always add a lot of berries or other frozen fruits with mine.

I don't see the point. Maybe for selling in shops but not for ordering home.

I LOLd when reading their justification for the increase in packaging and shipping for RTD. They want people to believe they see its introduction as 'two steps forward, one step back'; the net impact of a utopia where everyone consumes Huel/RTD and no animal-based product being tempered by this huge initial increase in cost and resource consumption.
https://uk.huel.com/pages/why-does-huel-ready-to-drink-use-plasticPeople aren't stupid, and we know the reason it's been introduced is to make more money. I wish they had either said nothing or admitted that from the outset rather than posting this flowery preamble to address environmental concerns.
What next? Huel is sold to Coke, utopia of Huel in every shop is realised, helped by existing distribution network, at the expense of environment, product and all brand credibility? -

Anyone want some vanilla I exchange for coffee? I've completely changed my mind on the flavour and now have too much vanilla and no coffee left.
Doing an experiment tracking calories and macros and Huel does make hitting certain numbers so much easier. Now to figure out how to lessen the 'emissions'.

The ogirinal vanilla taste much much better. None of that slightly weird after taste. Just saying...
-
• #716
Their versioning seems ridiculous. I'm yet to see anything at all that suggests I should try the "new and improved" vanilla?
Then they have the "original" but it's v2.3 -
• #717
Don't try it; it's shit.
-
• #718
An absolute answer is just what I needed, thanks

I initially bought their new and improved vanilla and thought it was a bit weird but after reading some positive comments I decided to stick to it, in fact, I went and bought a 2nd bag. Then when it was time to order again, I said to myself, the original can’t be worst than the new and improved so I ordered that. Oh My! The original actually tastes and smells of vanilla, it’s also a lot creamier if that’s what you are after.
That said, I still think they are far too sweet for my liking so I am still doing 1:1 vanilla and unflovered plus a handful of berries in a blender.

Has anyone eaten the granola, and is it alright? I'm thinking the crunch might make it more satisfying than a second shake

I know people here like Huel but I've been using the MP whole fuel for the past year - I did it because I order from them regularly and it's way cheaper. There is more sugar in it and a few slight differences but it's currently £5.60 per KG which is pretty great value...
-

50% off offer on now, maybe worth a try, cheers!
Ordinarily, though, looks like it's £16.49 for 1kg only, or £29.99 for 2.5kg (£12/kg), which is more expensive per kg than Huel @£40 for 3.5kg (£11.43/kg).
Do you get greater discount for ordering from them more regularly?TBH I was worried about turning into a 'protein shake fitness tit' when I started on Huel, but took solace from the fact it's not directly marketed as a fitness product. I fear that opening a pouch labelled 'MyProtein' would be the final nail in that particular coffin.
EDIT: I guess Huel's turned out to be more of a 'hipster cool Instagram tit' thing. You can't win!

I've never ordered from MP and not been able to get at least 40% off

MyProtein regularly do 50% offers.
I buy 2kg of protein powder when it occurs. By the time its about to run out another 50% offer turns up.

What’s the taste like compared to Huel? If it no sweeter I might give it a go as my Huel is running low!
vanilla plus a heaped teaspoon of green and blacks cocoa powder and sometimes a spoonful of instant coffee is working pretty well for me. what's the advantage of the huel shot stuff?
